silly question... is the $50 super satellite a direct satellite to the main with 30 $1600 seats or is it just a sat to the Mega?

Thur 12:00 PM Super Satellite (30 Seats Guaranteed) $50
Thur 5:00 PM Mega Satellite ($5,000 ADDED) $200
Thur 7:00 PM Mega Satellite ($5,000 ADDED) $200

assuming its a sat to a sat

The super satty wins seats into the main event with 30 seats guaranteed but will probably give out around a 100 seats. A great way to get a seat cheap.

Choctaw has always had problems with staffing. Even now they have two or three people standing around to register players, except at 5 & 7 when they decide to take breaks even though that's when the other tournaments start so there is usually a line... makes no sense. The weeklies on Saturday have the same problem at noon.

Don't even start about the food court being ill prepared for the big tournaments even though we warn them...

As far as the staff playing, the only problem we had with that was the person in question was in uniform, officiating over that tournament, bought in with 1 short of the official guarantee, 99/100, then ships the first hand in a questionable manner then goes back to officiating the same tournament. There was other staff playing, floor and dealers, that no one had a problem with.

Keep up the good work overall. If Choctaw didn't bring in an outside crew to run these series it would not be as big as they are

Simple solution to Choctaw lack of caring...legalize gaming and casinos in Texas.

Other night after the cash game broke, went down to the pit area and saw some friends playing Ultimate Texas Hold-Em. Walked over and watched a while. The young female dealer was actively needling the players, actually sort of slow-rolled exposing her hand when they thought they'd won and just having a great time and laughing about beating them to the point that they actually quit playing. The floor lady was standing right there and I was interested in how to play the game and asked her a question about it and she just gruffly pointed out all the rules were on the table. Wow, ok. Nevermind then. They just don't give a damn - they don't have to, they have no competition.

Clearly Jimmy, you DO give a damn, I do appreciate that! I'll see ya this weekend. [/QUOTE]

This will be addressed tommorow. Thanks for the heads up.

Staff will not be allowed to play going forward.
As far as lines go...I was unaware and will address. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I watch closely in the AM and was unaware of them breaking at critical times in late afternoon.

Food- I have to agree. We are aware of the problem and we are working hard to correct going forward. The food outlets are run by outside vendor (Soon Will Change I Believe) We will notify them of your comments.
Thanks again for supporting our tournaments. I do listen to negative feedback and try to make adjustments. Sometimes I get a little defensive, but it is purely because I try very hard to present a great tournament. Thanks to the players , the tournaments have been a success.

If you had to pick to play in only one, the main event to this series or the main event to the Choctaw fall series, which one do you think would be better? I know the price differential (fall series is 1k I think). But do you think there will be any other differences (#of entrants, structure, starting stacks, skill of players, etc)?

I can't imagine the skill would be much different. I would guess there would be more players in the fall since the buy-in is quite a bit smaller, but for that same reason the prize pool may not be any bigger.

If I had to pick one, I'd play the 1600 this weekend. If you bink it, you can play the 1K in the fall too.

Negative. Gotta head out of town for a family reunion. See you in the fall for sure, if not one of their weekly Saturday events.

Matt I think it is more of a semi-retirement. Kinda of like some of these pro athletes that retire but then are attempting to play the next season. But in this case the poker world is grateful that he has made a come back.

Even though this series is winding down you still have 3 satelites today to win your way into the main event at 5PM, 7PM, and 10PM. Don't miss a chance for cheap seat. And Saturday there is a $350 tourney with a $20,000 guarantee at 5PM and a $125 with a $5,000 guarantee at 7PM. And lastly on Sunday there is a $560 with a $20,000 gurantee at noon, a $240 with a $10,000 guarantee at 5PM and your final chance to win some money a $125 with a $5,000 guarantee at 7PM. Kinda hate to go home as it's been aa fun trip so I am looking forward to the Choctaw Fall Poker Series Sept. 26-Oct 7.

In the past they play down to 12% or 1:30 am whichever comes first. So if this happens you will come back just short of being in the money. However if players bust out very quickly they have been known to play down to the 10% so it is possible to come back in the money.

Busted just short of the $ in the main event QQ vs AK aipf. So I am already looking to Choctaw's next series in Sept. On the road and GPS says I am 6 hours from Tunica. Thanks to Choctaw, Mr Sommerfeld, the floors, dealers and Card Player for a great and fun series. This was my first road trip since heart triple bypass and it was well worth the drive from Tunica. Y'all locals are fortunate to have so many good poker series yearly.
