Rebuy fine; reentry, just more rake sucked out of the community.

I have a solution for this. If you bust, do not re-enter. Problem solved.

So, this being said , I wanted to have a low buy-in tournament so anyone could play. Yet, at the same time I wanted a payout that was worth playing 18-30 hours for. So, this one tournament has a different than the normal payout. 5% of the field will be paid instead of the normal 10% of the field. I looked at it because of the very low buy-in and re-entries, A player may actually spend $400+. On the typical payout they might only receive a $250 payout. Does not make sense to me. Also first place will be lucrative. In my opinion the tournaments that allow re-entries should not have the same pay-outs % as tournaments without re-entries. I cannot see how players would like placing in the money and making less than their buy-ins. Therefore, I am trying this on "ONE" tournament to get feedback. Maybe its not the right concept, but I am trying it. I think overall it will be accepted.

The tournament will draw alot of players and re-entries and will be huge with a huge first place for a $100 tournament.

Hope this clears up the 5% payout, and hope you enjoy!

Thanks, Jimmy
I love the idea. At such a low buyin the field
Will be even softer than usual. My mantra during
this tourney will be "I will not level myself"

after thinking about it more, it would only make sense for it to be 5% of total entries and not the actual physical # of players.

say there is 1500 entries and a field size of 750

5% of the 1500 entries is 75, which is obv 10% of the actual field.

which would generate 150K prize pool with approx 33.5K up top, and that seems standard

With re-entrys it only makes sense to use a different payout structure. This type of "5% payout" structure should become the norm.

Jimmy,

It maybe too late to add an event to this series. It would be really nice to see an Open Face Chinese event in the $300-$500 priced range. It be great if the Fantasy Land option be allowed in the tourney. Maybe at the next WSOPc event in Jan '14?

OFC is not poker, you don't even bet. In that case, you might as well add backgammon event and then maybe a magic the gathering event.

He may or may not, but you have to admit, any "poker" game with the term Fantasy Land used in it is a little questionable.

there is more skill involved in OFC than regular holdem.

think of the game as a super sized version of 7 card stud but with 13 cards. You have to keep track of all your outs to make a hand or foul your hand. it's a more relaxed game where you can sweat your cards and needle your opponents when they foul their hand.

no harm in adding new additional events to any series, no one is forcing you to play or watch it. its ok to be afraid of new things
