Most events at Choctaw are able to register online at startickets.com

Yeh I used startickets before but they always had it on their website but either they don't now or I'm missing it. Can you or someone else local check with the poker room. I'd call but it is hard getting correct info in the phone. Just checked startickets and this event wasn't listed.

It's in the structure files Jimmy posted upthread (go to www.pokerexecutives.com - click tournaments)

40 minutes through level 17 (1500/3k) then goes to 60. And it shows 18 levels for Day 1.

Including breaks that's 14 hours. Doesn't seem right for a re-entry. I'll enjoy the long day nonetheless. Thanks for the info Scott.

The structure sheet for Event #4 - $100,000 Guarantee - $100+$25 say "5% payout scale will be used." What does 5% payout scale mean?

bigger payouts, makes firing extra bullets worth while for a $100 buy in

You can't fire extra bullets you only get 2 shots at it and there will be over 1000 entrys anyway.

That makes sense. I figured it must be related to the low buy in.

In addition to 2 flights, each flight has re-entry thru 9 levels.

Just making a guess at why they might do that. I was not aware it was limited to 2. I assumed it was unlimited re-entries up to level 9 each day 1. I bet it gets 1200 total entries atleast.

I still prefer the bigger payout for this setup if its actually 5%.

You are right about unlimited entrys til level 9. I was coming down for this but might as well stay home and play Goldstrike's $350 that guarantees $200K and not have travel expenses.

sorry you wont be there, but thanks for softening the field

after thinking about it more, it would only make sense for it to be 5% of total entries and not the actual physical # of players.

say there is 1500 entries and a field size of 750

5% of the 1500 entries is 75, which is obv 10% of the actual field.

which would generate 150K prize pool with approx 33.5K up top, and that seems standard

Different players like different things. I am not the tournament director that always does thing the "Standard Way". For the good or the bad I am not afraid to try different things. I was the first to do many different things in poker because I wasn't afraid of change. sSome of my ideas were HORRIBLE!

So, this being said , I wanted to have a low buy-in tournament so anyone could play. Yet, at the same time I wanted a payout that was worth playing 18-30 hours for. So, this one tournament has a different than the normal payout. 5% of the field will be paid instead of the normal 10% of the field. I looked at it because of the very low buy-in and re-entries, A player may actually spend $400+. On the typical payout they might only receive a $250 payout. Does not make sense to me. Also first place will be lucrative. In my opinion the tournaments that allow re-entries should not have the same pay-outs % as tournaments without re-entries. I cannot see how players would like placing in the money and making less than their buy-ins. Therefore, I am trying this on "ONE" tournament to get feedback. Maybe its not the right concept, but I am trying it. I think overall it will be accepted.

The tournament will draw alot of players and re-entries and will be huge with a huge first place for a $100 tournament.

Hope this clears up the 5% payout, and hope you enjoy!

Thanks, Jimmy
