Thanks you are the man!

I’m hoping they have solid structures like past years- think winter open 2020. In slightly worried bc the structures look a tad quick at the November series. The $700-800’saturday event has a quick structure for buy in level.

Think I’m going for the all mighty stack as structure seems favorable to the opening event. I hate how it’s Sunday- wed but I’ll go for weekend 400 and try to find a nice stack in 5 flights of the allmighty.

Ugh the 6max looks good but prolly will pass as I don’t want to go 2 weekends. The one day smaller buyins look good also but I’m sure structures are a tad quick.

This is late but they posted the structures on the borgata poker website. Go to winter open link and look at bottom with all structures on one page.

Some notes- I found the structures to be pretty good. Small stupid comment- I think they should have 1500 level instead of 1600 but that’s not a big deal obviously (just another 100 chip a dealer has to mess around with- again not a big deal).

They have a $600 bounty tourny the first weekend on a Friday that starts at 4pm. I plan to play event-75k gtn. After looking at structure: tourny is going to go till prolly 4-10am the next day which is kinda goofy. I love the structure and tourny- just think they should have made it earlier start time if possible. From past years, I assume tourny easily gets 500+ runners and maybe more. It’s a 1 day event but literally going to end so late.

Its nice they finally posted them.
Is it just me or does the structure for the event 1 kickoff just worse than the event 5 almighty million? You start with 4 times as many chips in event five although you don't get the lower first blind level.

I’m going for the almighty. Yea it’s a cheaper event and seems like a better structure a tad bit. I think almighty has slightly more play (don’t quote me on this). I think I ran #s and you have a tad more play based on same bb amount due to less chip stack. I think almighty is value play as it’s a cheaper event and still has a gigantic prize pool gtn (I’m sure they will blow the gtn out of the water- 1.5mill min: might hit 2-2.5mill honestly).

I wish first event would start with say 40-50k stack but not big deal. Also think the first event should go to 40-50 min levels on day 2 to give more play to most important stage of tourny. I guess I get it though bc they have to finish tourny. I like almighty stack with a huge starting stack.

Btw I hate how almighty is a Sunday start and goes till Thursday if you make day 3. I wish they would start it mid week like on a Wednesday so they could finish on a Sunday. I’m going for the almighty- will play the Friday and Saturday tournies also as I can just work Friday at the casino on my work laptop. (And forego using a vacation day- I kinda like the 4 pm start time for that reason). I honestly think the Friday bounty is going to go so late. If it gets 800-1k runners, I can’t see it finishing at ideal time.

I couldn't get any Poker rate other than basic rewards rate for a room. I called and tried the best rate they quoted me was more than the online rate... I'm down for 9 nights, considering staying at Harrah's, would save about $1k... plus no resort fees ect. looks like about a 12 minute walk from Harrah's to the Borg... Any one stayed at Harrah's and played at Borgata?

before moving to AC, i've done this many times bcz of my diamond status and usually played in both rooms. you can walk down borgata way, along waterfront walk or thru the field between hotels which brings you to the surface lot at the rear entrance where the poker room is. very easy/convenient and well worth the $ you'll save

I’ll be curious to see how many tables/dealers they have and whether registration is as big an issue as it has been in the past. The schedule is obviously not very rec-friendly and I have to assume this is on purpose to prevent chaos. But it’s good to see a north-east-ish venue dip its toes back into the major series pool to satisfy the significant demand in the region.

When will it be EBH’s turn?

I was there last week and spoke to one of the floor people about the tournament plans. She indicated that they'll have no shortage of dealers, but will be a little short on staff. I'm not sure what the staff shortage means with regard to registration, but as riverph7 said above, you can register online via BetMGM poker, which will definitely save on time and headaches. I used BetMGM poker to register for the Fall mini series and it was very smooth and no waiting for a seat.

It should also be noted that the series won't be held in the event center like in past years (doesn't seem like that's going to be an option in the near future for casino revenue reasons). The series will be held in a room upstairs near the conference rooms, which will fit in the area of 90 tables, give or take. They'll have overflow space in the poker room, and will probably limit the cash games at times to accommodate the overflow. The floor person said that between the upstairs room and the poker room, they'll have close to the same number of tables available as they did when they used the event center.

The Main event schedule might be tilted more towards pros / higher buy-ins, but the secondary schedule has a good number of less expensive options, so I think it's reasonably rec friendly. I'm a rec player and I'll have no shortage of tournaments to play

I think this series is going to be a mad house, in a good way. If any of you plan to go, definitely use BetMGM poker to register, and if you haven't already booked a room, you should do it asap

I've done this a bunch of times as well (through the field between hotels), and it's an easy walk. However, I tend not to want to do that in the middle of the night, so I've just hopped in a cab outside either of the casinos, or grabbed an uber, both of which usually run about $12. If someone's looking to charge a lot more than that, just look for another cab.

I'll be there next friday. If any 2+2ers want to say hi, dm me or post here. I'll be there Friday-Tuesday (hopefully staying till wed or thur based on how the $500 almighty million goes)

I'm pumped to see all the lol bad northeast regs again. I find it hilarious a lot of the live grinders have limited hendon mob scores as they didnt travel during covid haha. It seems like only the real bosses were traveling when poker was at a standstill.

I'm pretty excited as i havent plaed northeast poker (other than lol tstone and philly) since covid started. I won a wsop circuit event at harrahs AC before covid and played last big borgata series in Jan 2020. idk I feel the fields are a little softer in the northeast in comparison to vegas but honestly- i think all live fields are soft unless you are playing a $10k+ and get an unlucky table draw. Sorry but live poker is so damn soft- it seems like most people that don't study dont even have a 3!/fold range that has some light hands + not really sure what bad hands they should be x raising on certain flops in like sb or bb defend spots against 1 villian in position. if you are only x raising your strong hands- you are doing it wrong haha.

BTW not going to lie, im worried borgata is going to drop the ball on this. I feel the new TD is going to be in over her head and is not TAB haha. Some of the GTNS make me lol and makes me think they don't realize how many players they are going to get. The $75k gtn on friday that is a $600 bounty. I wouldn't be surprised if that tourny hits $200-300k. It hit 407k pre covid in prize pool- I think demand is going to be insane and all the northeast punters will be out looking to donate money because they haven't had their vice to throw money away lol. I think borgata is going to drop the ball on cash and mtts. I honestly don't think they will have enough tables / dealers to supply the demand and this will go down poorly. I hope i'm wrong but the fact they waited so long and i've heard there have been dealer problems; this is going to be a sht show probably. I assume cash game lists will be 70 people long which is comical.

IDK i think they should just pay dealers a fair wage so they have hundreds on hand for these types of events. Its a casino- if they lose some money in poker who cares? they make it up at restaurants, all the degens throwing money away in the pit and sportsbetting. Most people you see at a casino are suckers that are just clueless and waiting to throw away money.
