There is a light at the end of the tunnel for east coast players who loved Borgata Poker series.

They just started daily tournaments!

May be popular Borgata series are coming back . Hopefully!

Though there is no announcement yet.

Here is the link for daily poker tournaments.

It seems like we are slowly getting more MTTs in the northeast. Idk why it took so long- places like Las Vegas, florida, and Texas all seem to be hitting big #s with no Covid outbreaks so I don’t know why casinos in the northeast would avoid tournaments (only reason I can fathom is cash games are much more profitable).

Think we will start getting better series in 2022 when people start realizing Covid isn’t really risky for people that are vaccinated. I’m hoping for maybe a borgata series in the spring but we will see. Would be nice to get a parx big stax series but who knows.

I’ll go to Vegas to play tournaments but would much rather stay in the northeast for tournaments at the borgata or parx.

I'll venture the reason is that Florida and Texas, contrary to your claim of no Covid outbreaks (presumably you mean via their poker rooms) have two of the worst pandemics in the nation over the past six months. The contribution of crowded live poker without vaccination requirement is unknown.

Maryland Live has had full tournament schedules for months now. A couple months ago when I played there a couple times masks were a requirement and the upstairs tournament floor was kept clear of visitors and watchers. So now the Borgata and Parx are ready to get things fired up again, albeit at a reduced schedule possibly owing to staffing limitations.

There have been crowded poker venues without vaccination requirement in Vegas, too, for over a year without apparent poker-related outbreaks.

I think the slow return of these events to some locales has more to do with the logistical and economic difficulties brought about by COVID as opposed to any sort of public health issue.
