Me, too. I walked over there this weekend and there were signs posted in the room and the big digital sign on the street was advertising it.

Maybe someone could do something crazy like ask the floor the next time they're in the neighborhood. (I would have, had I known this was still such a controversy.)

FWIW .... I was up in the area over last weekend with my family and I also visited with a friend of mine who lives in the area, who said she was hearing advertising on the radio about this event.

Decent structure(40 minute levels, several good blind level jumps, I'll think about playing. It sure beats the hell out of the Heartland structure...

What events are everyone going to play? I was thinking of the $200 hold em and $200 HO event and trying a satellite for the ME!

Hey there, everyone. My name's Rick Gershman, and I'm the poker columnist for Ante Up Magazine, a growing poker publication that expanded into Colorado a few months ago. Maybe some of you have heard our podcast. (If not, I hope you check it out. It's really cool.)

Anyway, my purpose here is not to pimp the magazine or the podcast. My post is purely journalistic in nature. I've been writing about the WPT regional at the Isle, and as best I can tell so far, any suggestion that the tournament was off was totally false. It appears that some disinformation was sent out, including a bogus post from someone claiming to be Matthew Dodd.

Anyway, if any of you have been up to the satellites for the tournament and/or have any other information that would be helpful for my column, I'd love to speak with you. I'd need your actual name, on the record, but there's no greater commitment than that.

I'm also looking for ideas for future columns regarding Black Hawk poker and Colorado poker in general, so any help you can provide would be much appreciated. The magazine already appears in poker rooms in a couple of dozen states and it's growing rapidly.

From what I heard, the wpt has always been coming to town since
Matt dodd stated! Colorado is virgin when it comes to mtts and their structure
Recently the golden gates had their 2nd Colorado poker championship series
This was a huge success imo, but still lacked a bit but they
Are improving very slowly but getting there.
I hope the gates n isle keep pushing Colorado poker but the gates
Has to start by hiring more dealers n fixing their mtt structures
Saturday noon is the best at the gates. However they really
need to stop capping mtts, hire more dealers! Never
Heard of a tournament sell out till I played in Colorado
Overall we can all agree Colorado has a ways to go but will get there

Does anyone know if Isle is going to allow preregistration for the ME? I was in the room last week and the floor did not know. If they are capped at 200 for each flight what are the chances it sells our? I am planning on playing and travel 80 miles from the mountains to play and don't want to get shut out!

How many runners did they get last Monday for the Satty into Main Event?

Any guesses for tomorrow 9/12? Will # be low because people are home watching Broncos?

hey, neighbor! I live in Avon, and u in Vail? Why do you think flight will sell out at 200? I thought they suppose to have more tables for WPT. Anyway just get there hour or two prior to flight beginning. Register, and u ll' still have time for breakfast/meal.

The Isle is putting 20 tables at the bottom of the escalators on the main casino floor where that are removing slots to make room for the WPT. The Poker Room is going to be reserved for live play. This is what the floorman told me last weekend when I was there playing. Yes I would get there a couple of hours early in order to register. I keep asking the floor to get the poker room manager to allow early registration. You would think the would rather have more sign up early so they can fill the flights?

On Saturday night the floorman Cody informed me NO SEATS have been qualified and everyone has take the cash for the sats.

Do you guys know if they still run Thursday morning omaha 8 tourneys?

Any info on that O8 event? What are payout structure or is it just a satellite to the main event?
I played several Thursday morning O 8 tourneys at Isle( won one) but they usually were 10 player tourneys.

It's a stand-alone event. The Isle Black Hawk website has structure sheets for all the events in the series available in the poker room and posted on their website.

That does not surprise me ... about the cash part that is. When the HPT first came to Blackhawk, the Golden gates didn't allow for the cash to be taken for the (lower level) sats, and as a result, they took a bath with the Colorado Gaming commission.

I suspect that is the reason why the Isle is doing it this way.

Does anyone know the structure/duration of levels for each event? I see there are structure sheets at the Isle, does anyone have a copy?
