Who will be there? Haven't been able to play since last year thx to new job, so Im pretty excited. Will be playing the opener 300k (1d most likely), some one-days, and the heads up if I can get a spot. Plus plenty of NFL in the sports book and lots of baccarat degenning.

I’ll be there the opening weekend with the same plan. Playing 1d of the 300k and hopefully getting into the heads up on Monday. No table games for me but will be throwing a few sports bets on football/baseball. Good luck!

Does it bother anyone about the amount of rake the Beau is charging?

20% rake sucks but it’s honestly the standard for $300-$350 tournaments. The The main is just under 12% which I think is also normal for 1k-1.5k range. The competition in the smaller buy in large fields still have value in my opinion because the field is generally pretty soft, but is obviously dependent on table draw. Still sucks paying 20% rake though lol. I’d be interested in everyone else’s thoughts on this?

Just booked my trip to play in this series, arriving evening of the 12th, see you there. I'll be bringing along copies of my new book, so feel free to see me if you want to buy a copy, or if you just want to say hi. I'm amenable anytime I don't have a live hand in front of me.

Cheers, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

I'll be gone on the 11th so I won't see you Greg but enjoy your time in MS, it's fun to play here.

As far as the rake, looks the same as previous years, no??

It is higher than the $400 wsopc events and more than the Seminole Hard Rock in similar price points. The main is reasonable. Over time thinking that 20% rake is "acceptable" will eat you up.

For those interested, I drove out last night to buy into the heads up tournament for Monday because the cap is 64 and sold out early last year. About 2 hours after registration opened, I was only the 4th entry.

Thanks for the update. Last year when I drove out Thursday I was like #37. But I think there was a small tournament that night (suited poker gear) and satellite. I don't think they had anything last night, not sure.

Anyways I can't make it out until tomorrow afternoon, hopefully there will be spots left somehow. What helps is that if you pre-reg it is non-refundable.

GL Edawg, I'll be there tomorrow for 1D, the one day on Sunday (unless I make it to day 2), and hopefully the heads-up Mon. Otherwise I'll do the one day on Monday too.
