decided i wont be attending this event due to thanksgiving conflict....

Just wanted to express how dissapointing it is for a tournament that is basically on the border witht he US decided not to take the simple response of adding a 2nd start day on either WED or Friday...
It is a disgrace and a giant F U to a bunch of americans who normally play in this event.

They are prob losing more than 100+ people that would normally play if it didnt conflict with the holiday.

According to the Riverrock BCPC page they prize pool give estimates based on a completely sold out event which is "capped" at 550 ppl. Obviously they can have alternates to get above this limit.

I agree that they should have 2 Day1s for all events though, they had 3 day 1's for the $550 but only 1 for the $1100 and ME, doesn't seem right and they're just losing $$ by doing it this way.

Matt,

FYI they already decided next year will be early in November (prob first week) due to complaints received and the CFL Grey Cup being in Vancouver next year.

As for numbers this year, they can sit 704 plus alternates if demand is there. They had 647 for $1100 tourney. I expect the ME will be 550-600 at my best guess.

Also for the rest of you from Seattle I made sure those in chare knew how many Seattlites didn't come up this year due to Thanksgiving conflict.

Will this year's BCPC be televised? It was televised in 2008 when PokerStars sponsored online satellites, and Daniel Negreanu ended up winning it. After BCPC stupidly refused any association with online sites, there has been no more online satellites. I don't think last year's exciting final table was televised, when the winner was later arrested and his first prize confiscated.

Though it might be disappointing, I doubt very much it was intentional to say FU to Americans.. and judging by record attendance so far... I think it's safe to say there are many Americans players participating this year... granted, there possibly could be more in attendance for the ME, if it did not coincide with the American Thanksgiving holiday... but I'm also pretty sure those spots are being filled up anyways... seeing as there seem to be a lot more Canadian players attending than in past years.

Scott Clemens played, busted around the third level today (he 3-bet pre with AQ against 66, board came A6x).
Kara Scott also busted late in the day, I believe.
At the end there was a guy at my table with 383K, I don't think Jarvis has more than that.

81 players going into day 3, average stack 101K. 54 will be in the money.
