Matt,

Just talked to the poker room although it wasn't the manager. The guy was pretty convinced that there would not be any changes and it will remain Day 1 thursday, Day 2 friday and not two separate Day 1s. fwiw.

I honestly think they would be making a mistake at this point to change it as they just dont draw enough players to warrant two separate Day 1's. I think they'll likely be in the 650-750 range again this year.

They have sattalites in penticton if they can get enough players.

No. There was rumour Stars may run sats for it in November but that is still just rumour.

Live sats every saturday and Single Table SnG sats run whenever they fill at the casino as well.

I don't think Stars ran sats last year. Not since 08 (when DN won it)

This Saturday's satellite at River Rock awarded 7 seats I think.

They run a big satellite the day before the ME w/ a 550 player limit in the theatre (24th).

For those that haven't been up there before the rooms are really nice and pretty reasonable. The rates change on the weekend and they might be more during the tourny but rooms are normally < $200 canadian a night (It would be a good idea to call for the prices during ther BCPC but the rooms would go for $300ish in Vegas). Also, last year there were tons of cash game players that just ended up sharing rooms with each other because some of them are playing 24+ hours and sleeping 4-5. If you can't find anyone in the forums it wouldn't be hard to walk upstairs to the cash games and find someone. Hope to see you there! Good luck :-)

The poker room isn't upstairs anymore, they moved it across the street to its own building. :x

They advertise "special rates" for hotel rooms on the BCPC flyers, I'm not sure what they are since I just live 2 stops away on the skytrain.

Really? When did they move it? I haven't been there for a while I just remember the rooms being really nice for he price. How many tables? Are the chairs more comfy now? I guess I have to go to the BCPC to see lol

I think there are 14 tables now with the same tables/chairs as before.

It's been a while; probably 8-10 months since they moved.

I just pre-regged for the 1100 and 2700s today. The 550 event is going to fill pretty soon. I heard that phone-in registration is full for day 1B--Nov 20 (not sure about 1A).

I suggest if you want to play that event you should register soon. They told me that you can't register for the 550 without paying though. You can register for the other 2 events over the phone by giving your name, address, and drivers license # and don't have to pay until 2 hours before they begin.

If you know the main entry, than you just cross the street and it is on your right.
Same tables, and it feels alittle tighter than before.
Was looking forward to this all year and now my schedule just gave me a good raping and will have to miss it.One of these days I will make it to meet the fine 2p2 crowd.
Good luck to every one in this, should be fun.

Thank you for inquiring.

We do not have any information as to PokerStars running satellites to BC
Poker Championship in the near future but would like to assure you that if
we do, these will be available in the lobby right away, and information
about them will be posted in lobby information screen as well as pop-up message.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Online satellites are very doubtful.

I asked on my way out tonight. As of YESTERDAY there were only ~50 seats left for day 1A and ~25 seats left for day 1B for the 550 event 1.

I don't think they'll take phone-in registration for it any more either. If anybody really wants a ticket I can get one for you. I remember last year there were lots of disappointed people who missed out on that one.

guy on the phone told me it wasnt possible to pre-reg over the phone for the 550...but then he asked someone else at the desk and they said phone-in pre-reg is still available but almost full.

RJ told me he had to turn down a girl who wanted to reg for day 1B to play w/ her boyfriend, maybe you can reg 1A, or maybe somebody was wrong

Ok, I'm new to the forum but just to let you guys know, $550 phone in registeration is no longer being taken. There's about 60 tickets left for Day A and 25 for for day B. There is a special poker rate going on on River Rock hotel during the week, and it's $143. If you are coming out of town, you might want to book your room soon as there might not be too many rooms left.
As for $1,100 and $2,700 event, there are still many tickets left and you can phone in register.

As for cash game, there will be four seperate tables only for high stakes as well as other cash game on the main poker room.

Cheers

Played the $120 satellite to the $1100 BI event.
every
95 entries so 9 seats and 10th got $550. Apparently that is the highest turn out so far but have been averaging 6-8 seats for a few weeks. It will only get busier closing in to the series. I'd expect to see 100 ppl (thats the cap) every sunday until it begins.

They use the $100 MTT structure for the satellite.

$550 is a sold out.
they're now taking alternate list for those who's interested. They might open another tournament day on Thursday if there's overwhelming demand.

the cap is 308 players plus alts. for the 550 event. last year the cap was at least 500 players. what gives??

edit: could be cuz they made their new poker room smaller compared to the old one.

Looks like they'll just have the 14 tables 11-handed...

Last year the poker room had what, 18 tables? And they also brought in a few more and packed them in the entranceway to the poker room.
