I'm playing the PLO 500 and PLO 1000 at EPT Deauville and some PLO cash.

Wondered if you/anyone can help with these questions please.

1. Can buy ins for comps be done at the venue directly from EURO funds that are in my Pokerstars account?

2. Can tournament cashes (if any!) be paid directly into my Pokerstars account?

3. What is the entry policy into the casino, what forms of id are required and is entry allowed immediately on arrival or is there a 24/48 hour delay?

4. What is the dress code for the casino?

5. What is the rake structure for cash games and what is the usual etiquette for tipping in cash games?

6. I assume that EPT comps are conducted in English but cash games are in French, is this correct?

7. Is there an EPT party at the end of the competition schedule, when and where is it and how do I get a ticket(s)!

Thanks in advance for all answers and I wish everyone an enjoyable and successful trip to Deauville.

Hi Sage,

Answers -

1 - No you cannot. From either .com or from .FR.

2 - No they cannot. To either .com or to .FR.

3 - The tournament is being held in the convention center across the street from Casino Barriere, so the dress code for the poker room will be more relaxed. The Casino itself may choose to enforce a stricter dress code inside the actual Casino Barriere since the poker is not beig held in the casino this year. I am waiting for word back from them on that issue. Immediate entry is granted with ID.

4 - I am waiting for their official reply before posting. It has been relaxed for EPT in the past years we have attended to allow for jeans and trainers, but not shorts, sweats, flip flops, etc...

5 - Specifics are also in the email I am waiting for. The rake is high in France in general. The EPT and PokerStars have nothing to do with the setting of the rake in our partner casinos. We can advise and request reductions, but it is the ultimate decision of the Casino and the Government Regulatory body.

6 - The EPT Tournament is an English first event. You must take into consideration that like EPT San Remo, we will have a significant number of players who do not speak English due to the large local player base in France. The Tournament Staff will be French for this event and will be able to handle any translations necessary.

7 - There is a party, but I don't have the date in front of me. I am on my peronal laptop, not my work one. I'll post it tomorrow

See you in Deauville!

Sage, the rake in france makes all forms of cash game unbeatable. you will never see pros in the cash games there. Poker "clubs" like the aviation club do not have to collect the govt rake.

The french govt takes a 4% rake out of every pot, in addition to any house rake

you are also expected to tip

Thanks very much for the answers Neil, much appreciated.

In relation to question 2, some players will be winning large prize money so if there is no facility to have it paid into their pokerstars accounts then what are the alternatives to being paid in cash please? Is it possible to be paid prize money by cheque or by direct bank transfer and if so can the amounts be converted into sterling/US $ or other currencies before payment is made and if so what reference do you use as the exchange rate?

If I cash big I would be a bit uncomfortable walking around Deauville with large amounts of cash.

Sorry if the answer to the above is well known to most players but I haven't played comps outside of my home country, the U.K., before.

Can I read into your answer to question 3 that the PLO cash games are also being run in the convention centre or is it just your tournaments that are in the convention centre and all cash games in the casino itself?

Thanks again for providing these answers.

Wire tranfers will def be available if you cash big but I would worry about that when it happens
01-04-2011 , 07:34 PM
Hi Sage,

2 - Wire transfers and cheques are available. The money will be wired out in Euros (90% sure, getting verification) and your bank will convert at whatever its daily rate is.

3 - All cash games, PLO and NL will be played in the casino. Cash SNG will be in the convention center, but not cash games.

Thanks Neil for all of your answers and I'm really looking forward to playing in this unique Deauville event.

For players considering playing cash games in the casino.....

I had a chat last night at my local poker club with some French players and French dealers and they felt that the rake would be a flat 4%, but uncapped, in cash games in the casino but that tips are not routinely given because French casino dealers earn a salary and are paid quite well.

I guess I will wait and see exactly how the rake/tips work when I get there and adjust accordingly.

I am really excited about this EPT event, win, lose or draw.

Neil they put Deuville up for a while and now once again there are no EPT step Gs running. I personally wasn't planning on playing for Deuville but was planning on using a step G in my account soon. I really wish they would offer these games for the same amount of time they offer the reg sats.

Neil, when are the dates for Sanremo and the grand final planned to be released?
01-14-2011 , 02:01 PM
What is the online DBI situation for Copenhagen (for main and for sides)?

Will the casino convert euros/dkk cash back and forth at the same rate?

Neil,

Is Visa accepted for tournament entry buy ins. Also, do we buy in at The Convention Centre or in the Casino?

Are there any SNG qualifiers for the 500 PLO and 1000 PLO events and if so when and how much please?

And do you have details of the party yet and how to get tickets?

Thanks for all of your help with this.

Hi All,

Trust me everyone, we want to announce the dates/place for the Grand Final as much as everyone wants to hear it! Until the contract is actually signed, we can't say anything. That is also what is holding up the dates for San Remo since it will finish three days before the Grand Final starts.

While I can't give exact dates, if you take a look at the global tourney calendar and holidays in April and May, you should be able to find the window we will be playing in. That's about the only hint I can give for now.

David - 137 - There is no online DBI for Sides in Copenhagen. As it stands right now, there will be no online DBI for Sides at any of the remaining EPT stops in Season 7 with the possible exception of the Grand Final. I've emailed the casino about the conversation rate and will get back to you with a reply.

Apologies for not catching the Deauville questions before we started play here, hopefully all of them have been answered onsite by the staff.

Cheers,

Hi,

Since there isn't an EPT Copenhagen thread yet, here is the EPT Copenhagen schedule.

I am very happy to report that we have worked very closely with the casino to expand our traditional offerings in Copenhagen to a full Festival in line with our other EPT stops! We will have Heads Up (32 player cap), 50K DKK Side Event, PLO, Turbo Random Bounties and others.

We are also adding an exciting event that was tremendously popular at the PCA. A €1K + €1K Turbo "8 Max" Bounty event! At the PCA this drew 365 players and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Look for this to be a feature on the Final Day of all upcoming EPT's

As example...

35K DKK Main Event = €5Kish
15K DKK Side = €2Kish
7,500 DKK Side = €1Kish

The 50K DKK is in line with our normal €10K Side Event for the last day of the EPT, but 50K DKK is the legal limit for a tournament entry fee in Denmark. So our €10K Side Event is roughly €6,700.

P.S. Don't forget one of my favorite things about EPT Copenhagen... Domino's Pizza will deliver right to your hotel room and you can charge it to your room!!! In 30 minutes or less even!

Neil,
since the caps for the side events seem pretty low (60,100) how do you go about buying into those? Can it be done in advance? I'll likely only be in town for 2 days, so getting shut out of a side event would suck.

Also, do you have any experience of whether PLO Cashgames have been running? If so, at what stakes?
01-27-2011 , 06:26 PM
Hi Chris,

You can buy into the Side Events NOW in fact!

http://www.casinocopenhagen.com/turneringer.cfm?month=2

The reason the caps are a bit low is due to staffing and the labor laws, union agreements, etc... in Denmark. We simply won't have enough staff to have 200-300 player Side Events. Nor can we bring in any extra staff.

As far as PLO Cash games, I know they ran them last year, but I don't know stakes or how good they were. 2+2er "Chuck Bass" is the first Nordic player coming to my mind who might have that info. You can try PMing him? I'll email the casino and see what kind of cash game info I can get for everyone.

I'll post when I have it.

Also, if someone who is coming to Copenhagen wants to start the "Official" thread for me, I can post all the additional info I have in there as well.

Cheers,

Neil

Hi All,

An important piece of info for everyone about upcoming EPT's on Season 7.

There will be no Side Event DBI or payouts to PokerStars Account on any of the remaining events (with the possible exception of Grand Final).

You will be able to DBI into the Main Events of all remaining EPT's if you are platinum star or higher using T$, T£, T€. A new change, and the reason I am posting this, is that we will convert real money into T Money at your request to facilitate this buyin.

Will EPT Berlin have a 1 Million Euro guaranteed first prize again?

I'm afraid the Grand Final is going to conflict with the WPT Florida event which begins on 4/27. If so, you're going to lose a lot of Americans, including me, since the Florida event is expected to be one of the biggest WPT events of the year.

Rumor that EPT Grand Final could be after WSOP now? any potential truth to that Neil?

Wow that would be ****ing awesome actually. If it was like late July/early August. Oh man that would be super sick and I would almost certainly go whereas I wouldn't go if it's in late April/May. I think it would get a gr8 turnout because literally nothing else is going on then.

They have to fit San Remo between Berlin and the grand final so unlikely that the final will be on at the end of April already.
