As far as scheduling goes, WSOP's standard excuse for the delay is "have to get regulatory permission" or words to that effect. Really, for the typical events that run every year with no changes to the structures? Maybe they need that for new events but why would that hold up the release of a preliminary schedule?

This is not new ! It’s going on since last 5-7 years . Someone suddenly took all the credit for the success and delaying schedule to prove self ego that he is responsible for WSOP success.
They knew how in advance they have approch CCC ( or whatever name of states authority in Nevada) in order to release schedule or part of it in January.
But if Corporate bosses ( Normally Non Gaming People) finds out how easy the process is then someone may loose the Job easily

while it would be nice to know by end of january like you all saud.

historically its usually mid of february andone year it was announced legit on feb 20th or around then which was really late imo

im hoping first week of february instead of later than that is my hope at least

That was late compared to previous years. If I remember correctly it was always in mid January or earlier with important tournament dates.

I think this was for 2023 in December:

In 2021 WSOP was in late winter , so it was announced in April.

2020 was canceled due to Covid.

And if I remember correctly 2018 & 2019 were announced in December.

I have to accept one thing:

We are all waiting for 2025 schedule ! And complaining about late announcements!

But do we know who is in charge of putting together and publishing the schedule?

Is it GG Poker or Ceasars?
