Assuming the renovation didn't change things much, it looks like there are two additional ballroom spaces in the Versailles Tower, each of which is about 1/4 the size of the HS ballroom.

I will be curious to see what sort of events they hold there during the WSOP. Cash games? Daily Deepstacks? The latter would make all the sense in the world.
Can you get there from the Horseshoe?

I sure hope they put a cage in there so we don't have to schlep all the way to the main WSOP cage for reg and other issues.

I doubt it. Get used to walking! 😎
No seriously, give consideration to your feet and have very comfortable shoes. There's a whole lotta walking involved with the WSOP.

Well, unless something has drastically changed, it’s just up the escalators next to the HS poker room.

Yeah. Should be just upstairs to the right of the Poker Room and Nosh.

Based on what I’m reading, it sounds likely that this summer’s Daily Deep Stacks will be located in the “newly renovated Normandy Ballroom”.

I’m still not clear on where this new Normandy room is. I don’t know where the HS Poker Room is but I have been to WSOP events in the Paris and Horseshoe.

Can anyone briefly describe the location of the Normandy room, say from that big WSOP hallway w/ tournament ballroom(s) at the Horseshoe?

Walk toward the front entrance of Horseshoe. With your back to the front entrance of Horseshoe you will see steps down to the casino floor in front. There’s a lobby bar right there - and a plethora of slot machines.

After going down those few steps and into the casino, the poker room is at about your 1 or 2 o’clock. Can’t miss it.

Follow the outside of the poker room to the right and there’s a small eatery spot called “Nosh”. Just to the right of Nosh are elevators up to those conference/ballrooms.

Thanks, Get This Out!

Is there a theatre up there near the Normandy? Think that’s where my wife saw Wayne Newton a few years ago. Some drunk woman kept interrupting the performance with shouts of “I love you Wayne”. lol

That seems really out-of-the-way from the rest of the WSOP tables.

I think there’s a small showroom on the second floor. At least there used to be. The main theatre entrance is to the left of the poker room near the high limit area.

As far as being out of the way it is about the same distance between the Paris ballroom area to the HS Event center and the new location. The three form a triangle.

In this map, the poker room and escalators to the new location are in the bottom right. The entrance to Paris is to the left of the Jubilee theater.

Hi everyone! Haven't checked out this forum in a while!

Was wondering if other solo travellers would want to meetup for drinks or food during wsop or if someone else already thought about organising something with other people from 2+2.

First time I'm travelling alone to the wsop as most players I know only play online and my friend I use to go with won't make it this year.

Would be nice te meet some other people. Ill be going arround 24 june till the end of the ME.

That's a good idea. I doubt that I will have the bankroll to play the main event. I always see players from the Phoenix area where I live at the WSOP. Phoenix is a poker town.

I think Red Chip usually has some sort of get-together but it's in the second half of the Series so I never attended when I was a member. I'm not sure if you have to be a paying member or just a member of the forum.

Anyone know if/when they will announce the date for the TOC this year?? Seems unfair to people who won a ring to not announce it by now.

I was just at the stop in Tulsa and a lot of chatter about it. Rumors that it might be at the Choctaw stop or the Commerce one or pre or post WSOP in Vegas. Tournament director expressed frustration it had not been announced and told me to keep checking on WSOP.com. Does seem kind of late in the game for them not to have announced it yet.

For those looking for hotel rooms during the WSOP, I just rebooked at the cheapest rate yet, so you may want to take a look at the rates today. I initially booked back in December for about $1100 for 11 days (just the room rate, not taxes and fees). I check the rates almost daily, and so far today I've found the cheapest rates. I've moved my reservation from HS to Harrahs and Flamingo a few times, and today I booked Harrahs for $307 for the 11 nights. The rates change constantly, and are different for each person, but these are the cheapest rates I've seen so far this year for each of the CET hotels, so hopefully it's lower for everyone else too.

BTW, when I had my previous reservation, I was able to see the lower rates online, but when I when to rebook, the rates skyrocketed since I already had a booking at that time. Even though the message on the website said that I can continue to book for the best available rates, it gave me the much higher rates. I cancelled my previous booking and then tried again, and then I got the lower rates that I originally saw today.

Remember that the rates fluctuate a lot, even throughout a given day, so if you're reading this and go to check the hotel rates and they're not lower than last time you looked, continue to check back often and hopefully you'll find something that works for you. Good luck!

Are there any codes for discounts at the Horseshoe or Paris if playing in the WSOP?

The WSOP has provided the code "WSOP24" for discounts. If you have a rewards card, you can sometimes get a better discount than that code, depending on your play at Caesars properties. There's also a Seniors, Military, Teacher and other discounts which you can try to see if either of those gives you cheaper rates, if they apply to you. When booking a room through the Caesars website, look at the "Discount Type" pull down for what's available.

I think most use BravoPokerLive to pay online. That's the way I've been doing it and using a credit card. wsop.com/registration steers you to Bravo.

Yeah, when it says that it just ignores that you're a TR member, and gives you a rate like you're just off the street.

Same, very curious what they’re doing. If they do schedule ToC during WSOP at this point in Vegas, I’m hoping it’s after the main event. Hotel rates and flights to Vegas in July will be pretty high.

Choctaw would be a great option since there are so many people on the east coast side who win rings online. Much cheaper travel costs than Vegas or LA I would imagine.

Either way, I’m really hoping they figure it out soon so we can all get travel figured out.
