Their twitter spaces thing did say they added 10-15 tables so hopefully that woupd alleviate that issue.

It is May 1st. WSOP registration via BravoPokerLive still not enabled? In a few days it will be three weeks later than year. What is going on? Why is it so late this year? WTF.

Why are you so excited to register via Bravo?

A release of the WSOP online schedule someday would be nice though.......

See, that's the thing. I remain very un-excited. Seeing registration open via Bravo would get me excited. It would mean I'd be a step closer to committing to play the WSOP.

I usually get excited around schedule release time but I feel kinda meh about this year. And I agree, the delays just seem to sort of suck the excitement out of it all. I’m actually on the fence about going now.

This. Feel the same way. Least excited I’ve been about a June/July trip in nearly 10 years.

I wouldn’t say it’s because of the excitement level, but I would not be at all surprised if numbers across the board are down this year.

I don't understand your logic, what is the difference in registering a month and a half ahead of tourney or a month ahead,(if you are playing the first week) it's not like you won't get in.
What difference does that make in whether or not you go to Las Vegas? So many options, great numbers, can't figure out why a few week delay in Bravo registration would be a deterrent.

Yeah i dont get why anyone is antsy about registering for a one off tournament. Just bring the cash and register the night before. Seats will not sell out* barring some circumstances like the mini main last year. *everyone still got in, they just had to wait for people to bust out.

But anyone that preregs online will be the same type of people that reg early when they get to Vegas.

If you're there for a while, one will load up a TBIC account and then register whenever anyway. Does suck if the rumors about not being able to wire money to load up an account are true but bringing 10-20k cash domestically isn't really a big deal.

Or put money into a big bank (chase, boa, wf etc) and withdraw in vegas if one is really that concerned flying with it

Tournament numbers are booming this year. There might be some events that are down (the sunday ones that got moved) or some that get cannibalized because of other tournaments. But overall, i do not forsee any downswing in attendance.

Tournament Buy-In Credits (TBIC)

In the simplest terms its the Money you deposit with the Casino (or application) that you can use to buy into tournaments with.

It is definitely NOT a rumor. Paris will NOT accept direct wire transfers this year. That is confirmed via emails with both

wsopfaq@caesars.com
and the group handling Cashiers check deposits
czrcredit@caesars.com

Everything else electronic is BRAVO/PAYFINITI based.
Also Keven Mathers on Twitter https://twitter.com/Kevmath/status/1770621553446633805

Obviously they will do it with Benjamin's handed thru the teller cage window.

Carrying Cash always has the tiny risk of confiscation at an airport or a random Country Mounty during a traffic stop if you drive. Policing for Profit is rare but it happens.

Wynn Millions ME was down more than 10% this year. And the WPT Seminole Hard Rock ME was down almost 20% this year. It’s only a couple data points, and I’m sure some annual events have done better year over year. But I don’t get the sense anything is particularly booming. Inflation takes its toll eventually.

Of course the WSOP is a different animal. It’s pretty rare they don’t exceed their own expectations, and they have obviously added more space and more events.

I suspect an average of a 10% drop across the board. Of course, WSOP will spin the reporting to highlight any positives they can find as that’s Marketing 101 but I think inflation, current climate of political stress, lack of excitement, and the fact that they aren’t taking wire transfers will all lead to lower numbers.

(The political stress comment refers to it be a high-tension election year which causes fear of potential violence among some people as well as the Israel situation, which is also clearly a hot button issue, may be causing fear and uncertainty among people. It also serves as a distraction and maybe causes some self-reflection to try to prioritize things in their life. Poker may not even be on some people’s radars at all this year.)

Or maybe I’m overthinking it all.

I expect a slight downturn as well. It may be a bit misleading with the WSOP because they added extra starting flights to some of their marquee events like the colossus, monster stack, and milly maker. Participation in those events may rise because of that, so we might need to examine some of the more obscure events for a true barometer.

Maybe it just me but I just don't see the buzz or excitement level at my local casino or even on this forum. I went by myself last year and it will be five of us (confirmed with Tickets) this year so maybe I am mistaken. Maybe as we get closer it will ramp up.

The following article from pokerfuse gives a possible reason why the WSOP online schedule hasn't been posted yet.
Cliffs: It looks like wsop.com is connecting Nevada, NJ and Michigan, and they need to move Nevada and NJ to the latest software version in order to do that. Once that's done, then they'll be able to release the schedule... which should be soon.

Any time they can improve their operation, their take is going to increase. I'm sure there's a certain number of people that see a line, or have stood in a line for too long, and just say "F it, it's not worth this", and leave.

I am going to put it here only because I have done this at he WSOP for he last few years. I have also done this elsewhere. I take down a pot and someone at the table asks me what I had. I tell the table that I will show any hand I win without a showdown if they give me $2.00. It can be 4 players at .50 each; I don't care as long as I get $2.00.

I have never had a single table/player take me up on it. I wonder why if is important enough to ask why not throw me $2.00 for an honest answer. Or maybe poker players are just cheap?

Played the Mini Main and didn't register early. Had a wait of roughly 4.5 hours. They cut the pre reg the night before.

Asking wastes no time. But engaging in some sort of silly negotiation wastes everybody’s time.
