I’m not looking for the poker media to criticize the WSOP for its response, though they probably do deserve some criticism. I’m just looking for an acknowledgment that something very much out of the ordinary happened. It’s called news.

It may not be as out of the ordinary as some think. On the strip alone, there are serious medical emergencies everyday. Thankfully, many survive (yay, modern medicine!) but some do not.

I dont necessarily disagree with your sentiments, but from the casino (tourism) perspective, nothing good comes from publicizing or even acknowledging the tragic event.

The majority of people are unaware it happened. Informing them, while also reminding those that are aware, doesn't go with the "lets have fun" atmosphere they need to promote. Death doesn't make people want to gamble. It's not personal, it's just business.

Have heard multiple stories of people dropping dead in poker rooms.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's anything too unusual for the big operators.

What it is is incredibly insensitive to the guy’s family, as well as the many players who were in the vicinity. This wasn’t just a medical emergency in a hotel or casino or giant cruise ship. It was in the midst of a competitive event.

Just went on to Bravo to register for Collossus on Sunday the 30th. There is no registration button like all the others. Do they sell out?

Highly unlikely. I'd just check again tomorrow.

I can't see the event selling out, especially with an extra starting flight added this year.

A little off topic here but I’m vegas and damn there are a lot of euro players (have played Venetian mtts so far). Wonder if folks here think the euros are better than American players? I feel they are better as a general guideline but still some really bad euros also- I mean there are good/ bad American players also but I feel mtts with mainly American players only during non wsop times are much softer.

Euros will always think they’re better than Americans because they continued to play online while we didn’t. We just like to let them believe they’re better to keep them coming back year after year.

Stands to reason that if you're willing to fly halfway around the world to play some poker tournaments, you're probably better than the average local/native. You'd see the inverse in Europe. Any American traveling for WSOPE or EPT is probably a pretty strong player or they wouldn't bother.

What others said, theres way more american recs in las vegas than euros. Any euros traveling here are more pro heavy/here for the summer, etc.

Do Horseshoe/Paris/Wynn all have reliable WiFi for playing online tournaments at the table while playing live?

Are you allowed to use a laptop at the table, or phones/tablets only?

Please don’t be the guy playing online poker on your phone/laptop while also playing live.
