2022 WSOP 2022 WSOP

Might as well get the thread started now!

Pour one out for the Rio, home of the WSOP from 2005-2021. Bye bye pavilion, amazon, brasilia, and miranda (aka sports betting lounge). You will be missed.

WSOP 22 confirmed for Bally's & Paris, May 31st - July 19th, 2022.

No concrete event dates just yet.

I went ahead and completely jumped the gun, booking for a week at Bally's from June 6th-13th for a very reasonable rate. Based on the event schedule from the last three live WSOPs, it's highly likely that the $1500 6-max and $1500 Milly Maker will run in that time frame, and those are what I'm looking to play next year.

Time to start saving up those Geoffrey Dollars!

I like to do the cheapo event near the beginning. Then there's usually a week with nothing of interest, then a week I want to go, etc. I'm tired of going back and forth, so I might just take a month off work. Or go for two weeks, go home for a week, and then 2 more weeks around the Main. This year I came home only $300 lighter after 2 weeks and basically played 3 bracelet events "for free". So already my roll for 2022 is in decent shape, although there's only 6 months to add to it.

I wonder why Vince Vaughn?

I imagine I'll lose $1000 at Seniors event time like usual. See everyone then.

Any idea if they're going to still require players to be vaxed for the 2022 events?

That's pretty weird. I don't remember them having any master of ceremonies at all in the past.

Yeah I played the cheapest event Colossus and cashed, but felt like a waste of time. I mean money is money, but the bubble lasted way too long.

Only played one event though. I just played one event so I could say that I played in the WSOP this year lol. Cash is where it's at in my opinion during the Series.

I know its early, but does anyone know when satellites start for the 2022 main event on wsop.com?

I guess maybe the games are better? But I can play cash anywhere, any time of the year. Deep tournaments with large fields only come once a year, and that's WSOP. Even better, satellites like the WSOP has are only at the WSOP. The scare about not being able to sell lammers is distressing, but has anyone heard anything about it other than the one incident?

Probably nothing you haven't seen before - Selling Lammers has always been technically illegal but equally almost never enforced. You've sold em - I've won and also bought them and used them never heard a peep. If the WSOP actually sticks to this approach it will reduce the number of lammer satties assuredly as the Satellite grinders won't play. For me as a Rec the enforcement actually makes the Sat's easier to win since a good grinder understands how single table play works and therefore I am more inclined to play if they aren't around. This year I just bought into the 3 events straight up (as sat tables seemed fewer - more dealer restricted) - than in years past.

Again strictly self centered I will be glad if they enforce it - but I honestly dont expect them to, Writing out the proof and having a teller verify it at time of payment is more of a hassle for the Casino.

How long did the bubble last? I could see a $400 tournament like this being a massive bummer unless you made say the top 100 where the money is actually somewhat ok for the time investment.

Anyone have a prediction when the schedule for the WSOP 2022 will come out?

I'm 99% sure one of their recent press releases said full schedule in January.

It's not illegal. Just not allowed by the WSOP, at worst. But if a person played any satties at all, they can just claimed to have chopped a couple, and that's how they got the lammers. Since WSOP doesn't facilitate chops, there's no way they can prove you aren't being truthful even if they bother to look up satty winners. There's no record of players that chop satties.

That's silly. You want to have long waits to get a satty going? That's what happens when you have substantially fewer players. Megas will suck, so will STT's.

"It's not illegal. Just not allowed by the WSOP", - Oh for heaven sake Pig what's the practical difference ?

As to the use and you have it backwards - As the story is told YOU had to PROVE you won them at a Satty. "Kevin Mathers, who runs the WSOP Twitter account, was able to clarify that this year the lammers are issued with some sort of receipt when they are won. This receipt needs to be shown in order to cash lammers in.
“There’s some sort of paperwork when you win a seat as they ask for your Caesars Rewards card,” Mathers wrote."

Long waits for satty's - I Agreed it is logical that there will be fewer but the ones that run will logically be softer also. I can wait an extra 10 minutes. I don't think increasing my EV is silly.

Only one problem I see here . I played only 7 or 8 STT ( less than previous year) I always had great success with it . This year also I came ahead of it but because I chopped 2 of them . If we knew they are enforcing no sale rule ,other player would not have offered me a chop !
Trust me I had very little chips left in one of that STT but other player ( A Nice Lady) was gracious to offer me a lammer.

There are two rules for a business
1, Rule of thumb : To grow a business successfully do not fix if things are working!
2, Rule of Middle Finger : To destroy a business ,break something which is working and in long run close your doors.

Interesting nugget from Negreanu's podcast:

Apparently day ones will be at Bally's and day twos will be at Paris.

Didn't mention if the servers will have wine and baguettes.

There's no receipt given when you win lammers. They don't ask to see it when you reg with a lammer. Yes, I did both this past Series.
