WSOP.COM just added tab under LasVegas :

“2022 Ballys and Paris”

Not Clear why they did this ?

This was announced long time ago . Why suddenly add the tab ?

To change Ballys to Horseshoe is on hold or cancelled?

This is how they will be marketing 2022 WSOP ?

We will know in less than 2 weeks.

I’m surprised we don’t have the weekend “events” known yet. For example, MonsterStack June x/x, Seniors June x/x, Colossus June x/x, etc.

These have typically been announced by this time each year

I think whole schedule is coming out very soon ! May be by next Friday.

Sadly, no schedule until February.

Rebranding of Ballys to horseshoe.

I think this was the hold out on announcing the WSOP 2022 schedule:

WSOP originated in 1970 at Horseshoe casino down town Las Vegas .
Since 2005 it was in exile at Rio.

2022 is the Home Coming Year for WSOP and Horseshoe.

Every Year WSOP opens up with Big Tournaments which will bring huge crowds to well come new WSOP season.

And they comes up with appropriate Name for opening events.

Like Colossus, Big 50, The Reunion etc.

This year it should be

“WSOP/Horseshoe Homecoming Tournament “

In real world, I understand monumental task of logistical hurdles due to Covid, New location, corporate legal consideration etc.

But definitely hoping soon .

Next time they say they will make the schedule available in JANUARY I will check to be sure they specify what YEAR 🙂 . I can understand the delay but it would be nice if they let us know what their new time frame is for releasing even a limited schedule of the most popular events.

Who thought its a good idea to start renovations at the start of the WSOP? That will just add more complications to a series with more than enough already.

Yeah. I stay at Ballys all the time. The casino floor has definitely needed a facelift for a while, but this is odd timing. I never expected the Ballys casino floor to play any part in the WSOP (at least not this year), but construction could definitely cause issues. Does anyone know if there is a direct route from the Ballys convention area to the Paris convention area w/o having to go through the narrow passageway on the casino floor level?

I happened to wander back there by mistake this fall, I don't think so. Not 100% sure.

Of course, with any re-do, they may make that area more accessible.

I kind of wonder if part of the delay has to do with them deciding what they’re going to do about vax status this summer.

Personally I’ve been vaccinated since last March (2 shots), but I really don’t care to get boosted anytime soon - had covid just after the holiday.

Hoping they don’t need people to show “booster proof” too for the summer.

I wonder if they delayed the announcement to try to get more staff lined up for the event. I really hope they have more areas setup for registration, etc..

The 2021 Fall WSOP was just a mess to find the correct line, get registered, verified, etc...

I can't really forsee a scenario at the present time for them to remove the vax mandate. (I don't know if they will require the booster but at this point its anyone's guess)

Definitely a little frustrating that we are a week into Febuary and dont even have a release date... Can't imagine them requiring a booster but who knows.

Any organization who cares for their customer be more transparent unless they don’t care for the customer because no matter how they treat their customer , doesn’t affect their bottom line IE Profit.

What all of the posters here are saying is to be at-least transparent.

I have never run a business involving such a big numbers ( millions and billions) so would not know logistical challenges facing such big task , but you are correct a simple statement or public announcement is not hard to make no matter you are running a mom and pop business or billion $$ enterprise
