By the way, who else is interested in a 1/10 flip for $1K to start a NL MTT in the money on hand #2? That's some serious gamble!
How does that work?

I assume it’s 5 levels on day one and late reg into the second level of day 2.

That makes perfect sense.

It was like that in 2019.

Day 1A: July 3, 2019 (Wednesday):
12:00 noon start
Play 5 levels
20-min breaks after every level
90 min break at 3:45 p.m.

That’s what the Flip and Go Flipament is on the schedule. Everyone plays a hand of Pineapple to begin. Winner from each table moves on to a regular tournament while already in the money. It’s a pure gamble to begin.

So, no decisions required? That's good, because I'm completely confused about how it works.

What other series will be running along the WSOP, besides The Grand? I can only assume Orleans, Venetian, Wynn may run one. I wonder if PHamous will come back then or even if Resorts World breaks into the tournament series scene.
Speculation or inside info?

Well, you still have to choose which of your three cards you’ll discard after the flop but other than that, no decision required.

In 2014, they ran $1K single table satellites with 10 entries that high carded for a WSOP ME seat.

The Flip and Go is 8 handed not 10. So 1 in 8 chance to win the flip into the money.

I'll be there from 9/30 to 10/17 and then back on 11/3 til whenever it is I bust the main event.

Bringing my dad with me for part of the first trip--was supposed to be his birthday present in January of 2020 for last summer so he is really excited. Doesn't play poker really but is a big fan of it. He's going to play the reunion event and we are doing the WWII package at BattlefieldVegas while out there.

100 days, World Series Ho!!

I would say a serious recreational probably. Couple of decent scores last few years, WSOP ring, small timer though. I just love to play.

Going to for sure play:
-reunion flights A and (if necessary) B--this will be a fun one and my dad is playing it with me.

-Dealer's choice $1500 (this is one of my favorite events and IMO it is one of the best to play)

-NL deepstack $600 (if i don't advance in either of the above)

-6max NLH $1500

-Milly maker

-one bullet in the flip and go for laughs

-eight game mix $1500

-1k freezeout NLH

-1k plo

-NL 2-7 $1500 (my favorite event prob of them all cause I love the game)

-Monster stack (if I don't bag the deuce event)

Looking forward to just getting back to the live poker grind! Hopefully some day 2's involved that require skipping some events.

Yeah, but that's just a seat. You still have to play 3 or 4 days to make the money.

Who knows what will happen between September-November, but as of now, no poker room at Harrah's; nor Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Sam's Town, Excalibur, Stratosphere, Binions, or Rio - though I expect Rio will reopen.

Staying at Harrah's, don't think I've stayed there before.

Waiting for Reunion’s structure sheet to be posted so I know how long to book my Air Tickets.

If I plan according to 2019 Big 50 , it gets more complicated and confused, which took total of 9 days to complete a 5 day ( That’s how it was advertised) Tournament

That is cool. Hope Dad has the time of his life.

Well, I didn't say anyone else would be playing.

Seriously, thanks for the info. You're right, some places will likely re-open by then.

New schedule:

10/31 - arrive, cash games, nightlies
11/1 - $600 WSOP NLHE
11/2 - $500 WSOP NLHE
11/3 - $1000 WSOP NLHE

I have no hotel booking for 11/3 because everything is extortionately expensive for that night, but my flight doesn't leave until 11/4 AM, so it could be an interesting evening. If I don't find something between now and then, it could be an all-night cash session and then hit McCarran in zombie mode.
Wound up caving and extending at the Rio through 11/3 despite exorbitant prices that night, so I'm locked in for four nights (10/31-11/3). Wish I could stay longer, but prices are scary. I'll end up paying about what I paid for eight nights at the Gold Coast in summer of 2018. Yikes. Not happy about the inflation, but thrilled to have a live WSOP again. Missed it badly last summer.

Any news on the daily deepstacks and where those will be? I know they were planning to move them to masquerade last year before COVID wiped out the series. That seemed like it was going to kill the atmosphere of those events if they're not in the pavilion/etc. Either way, I'll probably hit the 1PM $250 on 10/31 as my warm-up for the bracelet schedule.

Also curious to see if Wynn, Aria, V, and PH will try to run some stuff to leech off the Rio crowds. Looks like Nugget will do their usual series.

Question about WSOP Daily Satellites. Can you use the "tournament buy-in chips" you would win in a satellite to enter other satellites? Example: Play the $180 daily mega satellite, win $1500 in tournament chips, and play 8 other daily megas or bigger satellites with those won tournament chips? Thank you.

I chopped a $125 in 2019. Me and the other guy each got one $500 lammer. I don't know that they would let you break it down into smaller denominations, but you could probably spend it in bulk. For example, if I took that lammer and regged for three $200 tournaments, they probably would've knocked $500 off the total.

What some people also do is hang around the reg lines or the cage and try to trade them for cash.

I think it will be very different than the big 50. Same starting chips but the Big 50 was 60 min levels (or 50min, if I rem correctly). The Reunion will be 30/40 min levels - so pretty quick. Closer to a colossus than a big 50.

Yes, you can use them for any WSOP tournament - bracelet events, Daily Deepstacks, STT's, whatever. Just remember that you can't get change from a lammer. You can't enter $400 in events and get a hundred bucks change.

Is staying at the Rio during the WSOP decent or a nightmare? It's cheap, which is a positive, but I'm concerned the crowds will be unpleasant and loud.

This.

If the end of my trip is approaching and I still have some, I’ll usually try to sell them to people in line. I just loudly say “anyone want to buy a $500 lammer for $475?” Usually get a few guys right away.

The crowds in the poker room? Around the casino? In the hotel part? I mean, it’s Vegas so there will be loud crowds. For what it’s worth, the Rio usually isn’t all THAT cheap during WSOP. There are cheaper options if that’s what’s most important to you.

But yes, it will be crowded everywhere.
