Im still debating on going. I have 9 days comped and already booked on the Strip but as I switched to mainly cash, I see less reason to make the trip.

A question: The WSOP has mega sats in the morning for $180. Any idea how the past ones ran and how different they play compared to normal tournament's?

Rio Hash House down the hallway to the Pavilion / Amazon room has a very good breakfast for about $20. It can be very crowded at times is the biggest draw back.

According to the Rio website HH is only open on Saturday & Sunday from 7am - Noon. All-American, Fri-Sun. 6am-10pm. Most of the other restaurants have limited hours listed as well, hopefully this changes this weekend when the Series starts, but I'm guessing this is an employee shortage causing this.

Will somebody staying/playing @ the Rio update us on the restaurant situation after the weekend, I don't arrive until the 10/12.

Well that would suck, I hadn't noticed that on the website or even considered that the HH might not be open during the week. Thanks for pointing it out and asking for feedback from locals or early attendee's.

If there's no cash games at RIO, anyone know where there might be some bigger PLO cash games running?

Usual suspects for PLO are Aria and Wynn. Bellagio rarely gets something like 25/50 going. It's possible that people will get drawn to Resorts World.

Those are the only other rooms I would expect to ever have something higher than 5/5 PLO. There's only a couple of other places that might also have a smaller PLO game.

The WSOP this year could be a great case study in immunity debt as the unmasked masses emerge from their socially isolated bubbles of the past 18 months to congregate with other travelers from around the globe.

Covid aside, it seems like the event typically is a nurturing ground for all kinds of illness as people carrying pathogens arrive from various locations and spread them through the air and across the surfaces of cards and chips. I'm interested to see how big of an impact immunity debt, along with breakthrough covid cases, have on the health of the participants.

All the confusion about fake vaccination card is now clear

Yes if you don’t want to download CLEAR . And you don’t want to get verified using Clear , this is what you will be asked to do. This is how it works: There are 3 or 4 computer stations , you go there and access your state health/ vaccination website and fill out all your information. ( Which you were supposed to filled out with CLEAR. Than your state database will validate you and you print out authentication and present to registration window . (That means all the fake card will hit dead end right there.

So, basically, if you don't use CLEAR, you will more or less be directed to use CLEAR or something similar at a kiosk?

where did you get this information? This would suck because my information doesn't show up online. I have made a request for an update and it will take 2-3 weeks. In time before I reach there but still.

I came to Las Vegas yesterday. Went to Rio at 4 PM when WSOP opened. I was directed to Belize room for registration and verification. I had CLEAR download on my phone .

Just to inquire I asked what if I don’t want to verify through CLEAR . I was explained by the staff how to authenticate my hard copy of vaccination card which I also had with me .

Than I showed the staff my CLEAR app on the phone . As I was pre registered for Reunion she printed out my Seat Card and Vaccination clearance card which I am supposed to give it to the dealer.

Total time it took was 5 minutes !

Did you tried CLEAR ? May be that will get authentication faster .If I remember correctly, The day WSOP online registration opened, I registered on the same day .And when WSOP announced Vaccination is a must requirement, downloaded CLEAR app right away . My information was on CLEAR in minutes.

TYVM - Great to get boots on the ground information on the process. Will the vaccination verification and dealer card be required for each event ? OR do you simply keep the vaccination clearance card and present it each time at the begginning of an event OR to the cashier when you actually buy in ? I was told every time you register and print out seat card ,system will also print a Vaccination Clearance card for every specific event.

From the WSOP's website: "Participants who successfully verify their full vaccination status through CLEAR may go directly to the registration cage tellers within the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Convention Center."

Does this mean you can go directly to register for a tournament upon arrival to the Rio? Or that you have to be verified once first in a different room and then can go staright to registration thereafter (for subsequent tournaments)? (I've downloaded the CLEAR app and put in my vaccination info already.) I ask this because I'll be arriving about 3 hours late for a tournament and would like to just jump in line and register as soon as I arrive, but I'd hate to wait 30+ minutes in line only to find out I have to go get verified somewhere else first.

The way I understood is ,first time you go to Belize room and afterwords you can go directly to the registration cage. As when they verify your vaccination record, they will note into your TR account.

As the crowds and lines get larger for vaccine verification, it seems unusual they would have people waiting in line indoors to get verified when they may or may not be vaccinated. If it turns out a fair number of them aren’t, you just had a bunch of unvaccinated people all congregating indoors together. I’m surprised they don’t have booths set up outdoors for verification.

You May be right. Eventually they will take the verification booth out on the trailer or tent if the turnout is like Normal WSOP.

Yesterday when I went there around 4:30 , there were 8/10 people in front of me . It seems like moving fast until 3rd guy in front of me started arguing about CLEAR saying I only have hard copy of vaccination and don’t want to download CLEAR . The Agent at the door explaining alternative method. He wasn’t happy with that. Said “ if I have to verify my status from the state ,it is same as CLEAR. I am not going to do that” After arguing 5 minutes and holding the line , he left cursing without registering.
Guess he is the one either never gives any personal info to anyone or he had fake card which cannot be authenticated.

I don't want to give my information to Clear either. The WSOP site doesn't give any such information about having to verify the card.
