This is literally false info. He said they are not very helpful in stopping someone from CATCHING it, but definitely helps reduce someone from SPREADING it. Which people threw out like some giant gotcha, despite that being the same thing people have been saying for 14 months or so now. You wear a mask not to stop from catching it, but to keep yourself from inadvertently spreading it.

Agree. Have you ever been to the WSOP? It's a human car wash. You're arseholes to elbows with massive mobs of people almost any time you're in the WSOP area.

Will there be mini satellites at the Rio, or only on WSOP.com?

Might take a stab at the Little One for One Drop ($1k+$111) but don't have much of a BR.

I do hope their math accuracy is superior to their spelling.

In 2020 Nevada passed a new 6.75% gaming tax on tournament pools. So vig went up to cover this. For example 1k event used to have 10% vig or $100, with $70 to house and $30 to staff. Now it is 11% or $110, with $7.425 to taxes, $69.975 to house, and $33 to staff.

They also have the link for online registration at the bottom of structure page going to a 2019 page. I would think it is the same, but would like to know if anything is different.

This makes more sense now and doesn't appear nearly as greedy by the casino. Thanks for the info.

Gotta love this. NV doesn't have an income tax so they have decided to levy a tax on the transaction of exchanging cash for tournament chips. And why can they do this? Because poker players are degenerate gamblers and are happy to bend over and take it in the rear every time some greedy hand decides to dip into the poker economy.

Imagine bellying up to a gaming table, handing the dealer $300 and having them give you $280 in chips. Just a small fee. I don't think the gambling community would stand for it. There would be a revolt. But poker players are a different breed.

Are there typically satellites for all the events, or just the larger buy-in ones?

That's the idea. Fleece the tourists and make a better life for the state residents.

There are a few event-specific satties, but most are geared to buy-in amount. $1000, $1500, etc.

Believe there are satellites for tournaments down to at least the $1k level and maybe to lower level buy-ins than that, though in any case I have always played them only for profit rather than trying to earn a seat.

So like $100 (plus vig), every 10 entries adds a 1k lammer sort of thing?

P. 8 and 9 of this document have the mega schedule. https://www.wsop.com/pdfs/schedules/schedule_4865.pdf

Most of them are higher buyins than $100, though there is a daily $180 Turbo Mega at 9AM that pays $1500 in lammers, and some lower buyin ones right before the Reunion and some $140 ones right before the Main designed to satty into other satellites.

They also have constant single table SNGs at buyins including $75, $125, $175, $225 that run and pay winner take all for lammers and a bit of cash (like $1000 in lammers and $40 cash for the $125s). Those often end up chopping also. You can use these as satties or sell the lammers.

With 3.3 per cent already out of the prize pool for dealers and staff, why tip the dealers when you cash? Seems like another set of hands reaching down there and getting you by the short-'n-curlies, as if there were not enough.

I think the gaming industry does a good enough job fleecing the tourists. IMO they've gone too far with this chip exchange transaction fee.

Not to defend the law as RedOak describes it (I can't find the actual statute or regulation), but it seems worth noting that the 6.75% does apply in other games. It's a license fee charged on all gaming revenue, so the casino pays it on their profit in the table games. Live poker tournaments used to be excluded, but it sounds like that may have changed.

There are entire threads with a thousand posts arguing back and forth, dedicated to lammers and selling them. Look back a few years.

Bottom line, people sell them, but WSOP doesn't want you to. Depending on which security guy you encounter, they will either not GAF or be like the 6'5" guy that screamed in my face and scared away Kathy Liebert when she was trying to buy a lammer from me.
