There's no reason to register many tournaments if you are using the credit card through Bravo. As per the instructions, once you have registered for one tournament with the card you can use the same card for all other events.

Register for your earliest tournament--go to Vegas and complete registration and go from there.

I can tell you that if you wire monies for registration I had to take casino chips for a refund but there was no problem cashing them in through the main teller.

Also in my case, the rule said funds returned as you deposited which one would expect the Rio to wire my funds back (expensive,...) but they did give me cash.
Thanks, I actually think my best bet is to just wire the money and reg all the tournaments with cash manually. I'd rather avoid the credit card 3% fee.

I assume I have access to the cash upon getting to vegas/Rio and can just rent one of those safe deposit boxes until my trip is over

Look into it again. I have heard, on this site, that if money is wired to a casino they expect you to play at that casino; not to use the casino as a temporary bank.

In my case I had wired $1500 for one event and they did refund but if you plan to wire a gaggle of money you may be on the edge. I'll stop here for I'm on the border of ignorance as to what the casino will do. Check it out.

Yeah, verify with WSOP. There's also the issue of wiring them enough for 10 events, and then what they do if you un-reg 2 events.

I never like wiring money anywhere. It comes out of your bank account fast, but then it's in limbo until it arrives at the destination. If it ever gets lost it can be a huge PITA to get straightened out.

When you get stumped when it asks for your Card Verification Value, be sure to post back here asking about it and remember to include a front/back image of your credit card.

Let us know when you need help booking rooms and flights.

Does anyone know how many days the Big 50 (event #3) will take from start to finish. Need to figure out how many days off work to take.

Thanks.

Just take one day off. That way when you lose you won’t be stuck in Vegas bored as ****. Anything else is gravy

It’s right there on the structure sheet. Anticipated to play down to a winner on Friday 6/7.

Brah...chill out. I never said you were going to lose just saying don’t plan on making a final table so you have nothing to do if you don’t. I’m sure most Bosses would be cool if you needed to take a few extra days because you had the chance to win tens of thousands of dollars

Very very hard to be bored during WSOP time. Lots to do.

When you go to the appropriate desk, they will ask for your drivers license, tap on the keyboard and then prompt you to input a four-digit PIN, likely repeating it for confirmation. They will then return your DL to you along with the players card and wish you good luck, then calling for next in line.

Do not overthink this stuff...

yes thank you,

I just assumed when I go to pre-reg at the WSOP site for the 50, they wanted an additional thing from Caesars that I dont have. I would be slightly annoyed that I dont have the info that they want in order for me to actual REG to the tourney.

If you have a Caesars property anywhere close to you, you can also go in to THEIR Total Rewards counter and get your card. It is not something unique to The Rio. The only thing different by getting at the WSOP registration desk in the rotunda is that you will have a card with the WSOP logo on it...cards from other Caesars properties will typically just have the Total Rewards design.

Watch out for the teams playing these. There are people who work together, collude, signal, etc. Between that and rake, these are maybe not the best way to maximize your return.

I dunno about the teams, but the rake is quite low on the SNGs by comparison to other things in the same price range.

Question about the WSOP prep
I am a decent poker player: Winning at 2-5 over 1000 hours, played WSOP last year and cashed a few event. All that to say, I am not a pro but I am not a complete noob either.

Last year, I really prepared myself before coming to the WSOP by watching videos and listening to podcast. Also I was playing a fair amount.

This year, I didn't have time to pay at all and I didn't study much.

What would you do to get ready for the WSOP? Any new concepts that are worth studying?

I'll be starting on the 29th of May with the 1500 O8 and plan to play as many events as I can for the next two weeks. Mostly NLH.

Correct that it is not something mailed to you. It is like what banks used to do with the ATM cards...they coded it while you were there (this was back in the days before so many were mailed from who knows where) using the little keypad for you to key in a PIN.

Cannot speak to registration since I had a Total Rewards card long before I even played a circuit event, much less something at The Rio. As a result, I had a number to enter in on the Bravo site when I first ventured to Vegas for the WSOP and was registering prior to the travel.

Yes, this. Rake on SNGs is lower than about anything you’d play, pokerwise.
