I have seen a few models but I personally anticipate level 14 or more conservatively 15 or around 3:00 - 4:00 pm of that days play - Still plenty of time if you bust to buy in late for a 10:00 am or 11:00 am start event of the same day ........... if you have the stomach to bust and run to the window that is.

I am personally happy with the new format although it does suck to not make anything after grinding for 12 hours but that is just poker and I accept the downside of a longer structure for the improvement in allowed time for hand selections. If I was in a hurry I could always play Turbo's

I think well past level 14 or 15. We didn't get into the money in the monster stack last year until level 15.

Orleans has a $400 senior SPT event june 15 - 16 placed perfectly between the two WSOP senior events. As well the Wednesday morning $250 WSOP senior weekly (warmup) event. Geez gotta love it. What a hell of a week for seniors to be in vegas

COLOSSUS $400 S-pts which goes from 56 to 112! Which is very deep for a tournament at that buy-in

CRAZY EIGHT $888 S-pts is better and goes from 64 to 95

BIG 50 $500 the Structure is amazing for that Buy-in with a S-pts at 126.

SENIORS $1,000 S-pts is better and goes from 113 to 144

MILLIONAIRE MAKER $1,500 S-pts goes from 126 to 153

MONSTER STACK $1,500 S-pts goes from 155 to 177

Also, you can buy in to the Main Event on Day 2. With even deeper structure this year is it worth it?

Meh, it seems like I always get in one of two types of games - one with lots of funny old guys telling crazy stories or bad jokes. Or the other type which is full of coughing, wheezing, bleeding, oozing, dripping, farting guys. The second type is not worth the hope of getting into the first type and I've "retired" from senior events.

I am planning to run well ( cancel flight home) and stay for extra events. This is my final year of work and would love retiring on a high note. I definitely have the skills just need to run good and lucky.

Book Southwest - its easy to do exactly that with them at no additional cost. They won't refund your ticket price (in general) but will apply the price to a different flight.

If I run good in the last event I am planning on playing I intend to do the same thing - I can't pass up trying the 6/21 Monster Stack Freeze out myself. Day 2 would put me squarely on my planned departure date.

I'll be there (although the ARIA seniors event that day is tempting, and then there's day 2 of the Venetian senior event (pending sched) . . . .

The only issue with Aria that week Wednesday is if you go deep and it runs so long it might screw you up for the WSOP on Thursday.

While the Rio Deepstack Dailys DO run very late in the big field DDS events it also starts at 9:00 AM so you are truly going to have a make the final table to be up past Midnight (we Seniors need our rest you know ) and the payout should be big enough to compensate for the fatigue factor that might impact our concentration in the WSOP Senior on Thursday.

Part of my thoughts is that I am staying at the RIO so whenever I bust I can just go to my room .............. my personal problem is that I always rehash my play after any event and it takes me a while to decompress before I can truly hit the rack. But at a minimum I avoid the additional hassle of leaving the Aria going to the RIO and then starting the process.

Whatever anyone decides that starts the Candy store week for Seniors and we will all be dragging our tails by the time it is done would be my guess if we run well (LOL or rebuy a lot !)

So you're saying I should definitely register on Day 2, since I'm most likely out otherwise?

If it remains as in the past, Seniors week will begin on Monday with the Wynn event and the followed by the Venetian on Tuesday. Has anyone heard if the Venetian was going back to the convention center again?

Depends on how good you think you are. If you think you're good you want to get the bad players' chips on Day 1. By Day 2 those chips will be in better players' stacks. OTOH if you suck, you will definitely last longer by regging Day 2.

Not this year. Some sort of jewelry convention which left years ago is coming back to the Sands in early June, making it logistically impossible to set up for a long-running poker series in that timeframe.

The Venetian Senior's( 2 day 1's), to which price is upped to $800 , begins on Monday and finishes on Wednesday . Last year it began on Tuesday; looks like an adjustment to the WSOP senior's which begins on Thursday whereas it began on Friday last year.

Also there's the question of the Wynn senior's which began on Monday last year, sitting alone, but where to go now without conflict /

Akashenk ,are you saying that the entire Venetian series will be in the poker room ?

Last I heard they will have about 70 tables available for the DSC. So that includes about 50 or so in the poker room and also additional areas outside the poker room, including where the stadium blackjack is right now.

This is like the old days tables outside the poker room, getting nostalgic.
