Any way to tell how many registered as yet for each flight?

Playing Day 1D only, so planning on 2 bullets.

Here is an example of how varied a field this will be, I talked a friend of mine, who only plays home games to come on out and i will pay half his buy in (positive vibes for me is worth the cost).

I have pre-registered for Sunday ($17.75 in fees). Fly in Saturday night, scheduled out on Wednesday, but will reschedule if I make it through Day 2.

Free Flight, Discounted Car and 2 of the Hotel nights free, so a mini-vacation and I get to play for $1MM!

There will be many rec players like me who play 1-2 tourneys per week and many who this will be their 1st WSOP event and maybe even their first Casino tourney).

I am exactly in the same boat..I just registered for Day 1D..it will be my first WSOP event..I do play a lot of smaller to$100 and below regularly. So my hendon mob has only one cash for $722 and I am currently 368,689th on the all time money list

I have a feeling the Sunday flight will be close to a sell out if not sold out by the time tourney starts.

Im signed up for the Big 50 on the Saturday flight at 10AM. I've used my credit card in the past and know i need to go to the desk first with my card and ID. Any comments/guesses how long that desk line will be on Sat morning or should I stop in on Friday to get my ticket?

Anybody know if I’m too late on any good hotel deals at Rio? I know the wsop9 code is sold out. Any help would be appreciated. Planning on staying Sat-Wed or Thurs during the Big 50. Thanks.

The event will be packed and you still need to go have your ID/credit card checked before printing the ticket on the kiosk. If you can do it the evening before you will save some time and will start the tournament relaxed. If it is too much of a hassle, come early to the Rio, print your ticket, and get a breakfast around (Hash house a Go Go is very close by). Good luck!

Do they have new chips this year? What is the biggest tournament chip they are using? I just realized eith 20k entries, there would be 1 billion in play.

Is it worth the time savings to register online even if I will have to present ID/CC at window? Which line would I wait in if not pre reg'd online?

What's the odds of 1C and D being sold out by Saturday morning?

I've talked to dozens of people from my local card room who are going out for this. I fly in Thursday evening and I'm planning on playing Friday. I fly back Tuesday unless I make day 3.

Same .. plenty of folks I’ve talked to are heading out for this event.

The fact that you can only register for one flight at a time may save some spots for Sunday.

Players firing multiple bullets that get knocked out on Thursday & Friday will be registering for Sat and/or Sun. Players in Saturday's flight won't be registering for Sunday until they get knocked out, so I don't think Sunday will be sold out by Saturday morning.

I think there will be a huge turnout for this event and there's a reasonable chance Saturday will be sold out by the start of the flight. They will take alternates on Saturday, so that may be an out.

To be safe, I would recommend signing up early if you cannot get there before the weekend.

Players are encouraged to take their seats at the posted starting time.

Players will start with a full chip stack when they are seated to begin play.

Chips will not be put in play until player checks in to assigned table.

Players in 11am flights must be in their seat by 1:00 pm (start of Level 3). After 1:00pm, players will have their seat voided and refunded if they haven't shown. Seat is subject to sale to other players, with original player only eligible for other flights.

Players in 10am flights must be seated by 12:00 noon (start of Level 3). After 12:00, players will have their seat voided and refunded if they haven't shown. Seat is subject to sale to other players, with original player only eligible for other flights.

All flights are able to seat approximately 4,800 entries at the start of play.
Players will be assigned seats on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once the flight's capacity has been reached, subsequent registrations will be considered alternates. Players enter with a full chip stack, but must enter at the Level/time the event is at when seating becomes available.

It is important to note that this structure is very slow, thus opening up fewer seats throughout the registration period compared to a typical WSOP event. Thus it is advised that those who want to ensure their participation in this event do so by pre-registering and showing up at the Flight's start time.

It is expected this event will potentially sellout (weekend flights most likely). Seats are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis and we cannot be responsible for any travel costs or expenses for those who aren't able to enter. We will announce publicly if/when a flight is sold out.

You can register as late as Monday 5/27 at the regular Rio Cage, no line, which is what I will do. I realize this doesn't work if you are coming in later in the week.

Does anyone have a sense of what % of the field will make it to Day 3?
I’d like to play in this, but I wouldn’t really want to make a separate trip for a Day 3 several days later unless I am already guaranteed significant money.

It says somewhere that sometime during your day 2, you will hit the money.
So it pays 15% right? So just figure a little less than 15% of total entries for day 3 depending on if you hit the money at the end of day 2 or middle.

But making the money “sometime on day 2” doesn’t really give any idea of how many people make it to Day 3. I’ve played in WSOP tournaments where 15% of the field makes Day 2, but only 1% make Day 3. And that was in a $1500. I’d have to imagine a $500 tourney with 20k entries would have a much faster structure than that. So is it more like 10% or 1%?

well, the starting stack is 50k, at the end of day 2 the blinds are 10k-25k with 25k ante. if we assume an average stack size of 30 big blinds, 6-7% of the field would remain. with an average stack of 20 big blinds, 10% would remain. should be somewhere in between

edit: end of day 3, the big blind is 400k, so field should be well under 1% at that point.

its a 5day event, so serious money (10k+) is to be expected late on day 4

OK, so having read the above I now understand that:

A) Players pre-registered via Bravo will be "seated" at the 10am start time, but their chips will not be put into play until they show up (i.e. no blinding-out; full stack when you show-up)
B) However, if a seated player doesn't show-up by 12 Noon they will be picked-up, unregistered from the tourney, given a refund, but will NOT be allowed to enter later that same day (i.e. only the next day).

For my situation, therefore:

1) Scheduled flight arrival at 1037am on Saturday 1 June
2) Need to get to Rio, go to Rotunda Desks and verify ID/CC, print ticket and get to my seat before Noon to play 1C.

I think I can make it if no checked baggage and no rental car pick-up, but I wanted both of these things...decisions...decisions...

Why not just play the Sunday Flight?

Should be possible. Don't check your luggage, and make sure you research where you want to be dropped off before getting a cab.

All the cabbies know where to drop off for WSOP, if not they learn quickly when every other ride is to there.
