2019 ME Satellites July 2nd - July 4th 2019 ME Satellites July 2nd - July 4th

I'm in town from 6/29 to 7/6. Played the Crazy Eight. Busted first day. Was thinking to do the Mini Main but saw they are running ME Satellites from 7/2 to 7/4.

Satellite Days July 2 - 4 ($135 - $2,175 price points - Start times: 8 & 10am; 1, 2, 4 & 8pm All Mega format)

Can someone give me the lowdown on how this works? Not much of a tourny player. There is $575 and $1100 listed with "Mega" format. You get "lamers" to buy-into the ME. Is this correct? Given the short time, what's optimal strategy for working the satellites to get into the ME?

It's my assumption that you'll get a lot dead money from broke guys who just saw rounders and believe in the dream. But then that will also draw a lot of pros looking to exploit that and save a few thousand dollars. Higher price points will obviously be easier to cash but once you get the that level I think you're mostly facing pretty competent players.

Would also love to hear from others who've been through this and can give a good scouting report.

Ok found the WSOP PDF that gives the load down.

WSOP Mega Satellites

Essentially multiple different levels of buy-ins. Final total prize pool determines how many certificates/tickets or "lammers" that are awarded. A $5k lammer is good for to buy into a $5k tournament. 2 $5k lammers will allow you to buy-into the $10k WSOP ME.

Doesn't seem to talk about the payout tho. For the $575 satellite, if the prize pool is say over $15k, does that mean the first 3 finishers each get a $5k lammer? Confusing part is that it says $5k or $10k will be paid out. Huh?

Prior to July 2 up to the main event payouts are 5K for the 575( 1 in 10). Between July-4 the payouts are 10 K(1 in 20), all in lammers.

Played these a few times, and won the last turbo they ran back in 2015 on day C.

As mentioned , there is a lot of dead money there, as it’s the last chance to get into the greatest tournament of the year. You’ll also have some sharks who are going to enter day 1C anyways and want to try to get in a discount.

The bubble is insanely tight for this, almost more so than the main itself if that’s believable. If you can get a decent stack, you can really abuse it late game.

Things may be a little diff this year with the fact that you can still enter day 2 on Sunday giving players all of Friday / Saturday to still sneak in.

Def worth playing IMO. .
