These rows are already frozen. The web verison of google sheets doesn't support this feature though. When you look on desktop or download the file it should work.

I'll see if I can create some PDF versions of Orleans's and Binion's schedule.
I think you could "print it to PDF", then use Adobe Acrobat to do OCR.

That leaves Planet Hollywood left.

Yeah, but will anyone show up for them? If they can't attract better crowds than last year it's an easy skip.

Last year, the tournaments that I went to there were at max capacity.

But what was max capacity? I didnt recall seeing more than a handful of tables.

Maybe five tables. It was a reasonable tournament series for people who wanted a one day tournament in that price range for games that aren't NLHE.

I think they went out on a limb (although no gtds) with events like Stud Hi & Razz (and 2 Triple Stud events) at that BI, but they should get decent turnouts for the more popular non-NLHE games.

They only have a license for 10 tables max. It appears that is why they are concentrating on the (relatively) higher buy in mixed games. They cannot compete in the low to mid range NL tournaments due to limited space.

Here's the # of entries for some $365 events last year:
HORSE - 99
PLO8 - 75
Stud - 28
Mixed triple draw - 43
PLO - 71
O8 - 71
Razz - 85
OE - 85
Triple Stud - 60, then 78
Stud/8 - 84
NL 2-7 - 37
PLHE - 16
LHE - 41

My guess is that they had a solid turnout of mixed games players who prefer hi-lo split games. They seem to have raised the buy-ins from 365 to 550, probably because they had good turnout. We will see how that changes the house rake percentage.

I think they should have copied the Golden Nugget schedule and tried to have bigger versions of GN's $250 non-HE events a day later whenever possible. Right now, it looks like both series have an O8 tournament scheduled for June 5.

Binion's also has two PLO8 events listed but no Big O. Last year, GN had more entries for Big O vs PLO8.

True, it’s good that people have that option, but if anyone wants a chance to win any decent money in mixed games they’ll go to GN or (especially) Orleans.

Those are mostly decent turnouts, esp. for Razz, OE & Triple Stud. It seemed like there were fewer runners last year than in 2017 at most venues. It will be interesting to see how many entries they get at the higher price point, as that can actually attract more players (esp. in PLO & PLO8).

I think they did a pretty good job of not competing with similar games at similar price points on the same days.

They could have offered events like Big O, Mixed O8, and perhaps an even bigger BI PLO8, but overall I think they have an improved schedule.

I doubt GN & Orleans will have much higher prize pools with most events in the $150-250 range. Orleans is mostly an afterthought, if still feel like playing poker in evening after busting a bigger event earlier in the day. GN is fine, but not exactly compelled to go DT for most events, when they are only $250 and $50 of that is rake (plus transpo to/from DT). Binion's is old & dingy, but also historic, and esp. if they address the capacity issue, then they should have a good series. GN & Orleans don't seem to want to really compete with the strip, rather they are good places to mess around and rebuy in between the more serious events of the summer.

The question is which venues will fill the gap between Venetian and GN/Orleans? Binion's appears to have taken a step in that direction with mostly $550 BIs. Aria has $470 BIs and focuses mostly on the more popular non-NLHE games. I'm not sure what PH is doing, they are sort of a mix of mostly higher BIs for the most popular games and low BIs for a variety of much less popular games. Given the lack of depth of dealer competence, I think they should focus more on mid-higher BI events of the more popular games, which should be easier for the dealers to master while also generating large prize pools (i.e. rake).

There's always plenty of NLHE events, tons of competition too. It's fine to offer lower BI events in the less popular non-NLHE games (Stud Hi, 27TD, 27SD, DC, etc.), but the real territory to be fought over is the moderate BI events in the more popular non-NLHE games (PLO, PLO8, Big O, Mixed PLO, Mixed O8, FLO8, HORSE, OE, etc.) and that seems to be where it's heading. I don't think many go to LV for a week or a summer primarily to play Stud Hi, 27, and similar events, but there are many who do so to play PLO, PLO8, FLO8, HORSE and the like.

Orleans is guaranteed to top Binion’s in prize pools because it has guarantees in all of its events. Hard to guarantee $15k on a $150 buy-in with 10 tables....unless they’re not collecting rake over there. 2019 Las Vegas Summer Poker Tournament Schedule

I'll be sure to clear my schedule for $150 events with $10-20k prize pools that become "shove or fold" after 3-4 hours.
It's great to be able to have some drinks and unwind while playing something other than NLHE after busting a bigger event earlier in the day, but not exactly going to plan my month around their "guarantees."

Sure thing. Clear your schedule for a $500 first prize. Enjoy!

(But it is amusing how I point out you’re wrong about the prize pools and rather than admit your error you tilt at a different windmill in structures — since they aren’t out yet no way for me to prove you wrong on that!)

At least that explains their lack of capacity, but you would think the original home of WSOP could pony up for a license that covered more than 10 tables.

I enjoy playing at Orleans. I hope their structures for the larger BI events are good and expect to play multiple events at each of Orleans, GN, Binion's & Aria to supplement WSOP & Venetian.
