Buy-ins changes slightly, more starting chips, and now big blind antes. I didn't catch what the rake is now though.

"Each official WSOP Circuit ring event now gives players many more starting chips than previously. The most popular price points, the $365 (now $400) and the Main Event (now $1,700) will increase starting stacks 50% each. So the $400 buy-in will start with 15,000 chips and the Main Event begins with a 30,000 starting stack."

The ME structure was fine how it was. I wonder what price people will pay for those extra chips? Higher rake? Changed level structure?

Glad to see Bally’s got a stop back. They did a good job a couple years ago. Kinda wish it was flip-flopped with the RIO stop. That is a better timeframe.

Why the hell are they skipping Baltimore? They had bigger numbers than AC. Hopefully Baltimore can slide into that open date...

Good question. Not sure why either. It's not really even close to being one of the most popular stops.

I see the Biloxi stop got moved to December, I assume to avoid the inevitable competition with Beau Rivage's Gulf Coast Poker Championship that inevitably typically runs simultaneously in September.

Yet again no Lake Charles or Shreveport stop.

What are the thoughts on the buy-in changes? Will it be a relevant factor? I noticed it seems that they did not mention what percentage of the increase goes to prize pool vs. rake

AC is always going to get a stop. Online poker will allow them to run satty's along with a Online Ring Event.

From what I understand (small change I could be wrong about this) it's the casino's individual decision if they wanna hold a stop or not. They pay a flat (big) fee to WSOP for the rights and then any profit they make on top of that fee is theirs. For a lot of casinos the management of that casino has decided it's not worth the trouble (such as probably Baltimore or St. Louis.) It's with them you guys have to talk and convince them it's worth having a stop.

It doesn't say anywhere so we'll have to wait and see, but there's only 4 real rake options for the new 400s:

$65: 16.25% - no increase to rake, not likely to happen but what everyone wants!
$70: 17.5% - approx same percentage as before (was 17.8%)
$75: 18.75% - increased rake, I assume this is it
$80: 20% - everyone revolts

Let's hope its 330+70, my money would be on 325+75.

According to this tweet it should be less rake?

I almost replied with a "more rake is better" meme

But reality is - it's probably going to be $330+$70. Which is basically same thing as before only realistically a 10% hike in the prize-pools.

I was hoping they brought back the stop at Bossier City/Shreveport.

It is so close to Dallas.

I hope late reg stays open longer with the extra chips. Similiar buyin size + more chips will hurt your hourly.

Also they need to make sure the monster stack gets 30k, when the summer series increased starting stacks they kept the monster the same which is a shame.

The summer series already has the Marathon for those who wish to play a longer tournament. If they increase the monster stack chips, they’ll need to alter the structure in order to finish the event in a reasonable amount of time. I would not necessarily be opposed to that, but simply increasing the chips will make the MS less appealing, not more.

The original Monster got an insane turnout approx 8000? on one starting day when it was almost 3.5X the 4500 starting stack. In 2015 there was also no tourney similar to the marathon so it was worse. $2620 is a pretty big buyin as well.
