Well at least they got rid of the stupid 1st place Million pay out. They did move the Main to the front of the series (1st weekend of Labor Day).

So they moved the main event to the front of the schedule and went down to 4 mega satellites crammed over 18 days in August? Only Winstar could screw up this tournament as bad as they have over the years. So glad we now have Choctaw offering several well run tournament series a year in DFW.

I must be getting old can't see it too well.

The $1100 Bounty is a glorified Mega since they also add 8 seats.
They also have the Supers which they add 4 seats.

IMO putting the main event first is gonna hurt the entire series. It has been tried before at other venues and has failed.

Winstar is literally a top 5 or 10 most popular poker room in the country. Zero excuse for them to churn out such garbage tournament series.

Look at what Choctaw is able to do. No reason Winstar shouldn't be able to do that at MINIMUM, if not surpass it.

Winstar does not want to hire an outside TD and turn control of the event over to them or outside dealers necessary to properly staff the event. If they hired Jimmy Sommerfeld, Matt Savage, Bill Bruce or a few others I could mention they could have fantastic events.

Such a shame. I guess their business must just be so good they don't need it. I sure would love to see what sort of turnout that place could get with some legitimate tournament series

Funny. Winstar does not give tourney players a nickel in comps or perks. This used to be the premier poker tournament of the year in DFW. It may not be in the top 5 after this year.

56 x $2500 = $140,000

Those added seats in the satellites are definitely a nice perk that I forgot about. Unfortunately, I don't have time to play in them so I miss out. I would prefer that $140K be put towards a professional staff.

3. WSOP Circuit Main in November (New this year, but will be huge)
4. River Main (Could drop below the Milly Guarantees with this years schedule)
5. Milly Guarantees in WPT and WSOP series

It is rumored that Choctaw may replace their PNIA in April with another WPT.

That would be amazing. 4 great tournament series spread out perfectly through the year. I forgot about the PNIA Main in the top 5. It should probably be ahead of the milly guarantees in the 5 spot.

Not really arguing, but just a genuine question, because I do not know - In what way do you guys think another WPT would be superior to PNIA? I am far from an expert, but this summer's WPT, for instance, had only a $200,000 guarantee on the $125 NL vs the $300,000 guarantee on the PNIA $125. I was under the impression that Choctaw was running all of the non-main event PNIA/WPT events anyway, unlike WSOPC, which the WSOPC actually runs all the events for. Is that correct?
