What kinds of cash games do they typically have at this event? I'm curious since Atlantis doesn't have poker except for during the PCA, which is mainly tourneys.

I think the 8th is a starting day also, so two starting days. I say this because on the 7th there is a super satellite at 6 pm to get into the main event, so they have to have a starting day on the 8th.

Seems like the 5k 6max shouldn't be on the same day as the 25k.

Would probably do better if it was on 1/12

Re: 2014 PokerStars PCA: January 5-13 ($10m GTD Main Event)

Hi all,

A couple of notes from the 2014 PCA...

$10,000,000 GUARANTEED!!!

World Cup of Poker - This is being moved from the PCA for 2014, can't say to where though...yet!

America's Cup of Poker - This popular tournament is sliding into the vacated spot of the World Cup and should be a lot of fun this year!

Hyper DeepStack - A really fun event created for the 12th is a $100 (no fee) DeepStack Hyper Turbo with unlimited rebuys and a double or quad addon!

--------------------

Dsilver - 2 - That is correct, the only info missing is for OFC. Additionally, we can spread basically any game at any limit, so if you have a favourite, talk to our Cash Game guys about setting something up.

Jluv - 3 - Thanks!

Jake - 4 - The front page schedule doesn't list any day twos. the full schedule is a click away deeper in the website (http://www.pokerstarscaribbeanadvent...m/tournaments/) I also asked them to update the website to get the second day one for the Main on it which they have done

Golden - 8 - The thought process, based partially off of last years numbers for that same event on the second to last day of the Festival, was that most players don't want to play a 2 Day 5K on that Sunday. They would be more inclined to want a one day Turbo on Sunday and fly home Monday, or hit the party, or play online. In addition, we have one day less this year than we did in the last few years and that crimped the schedule a bit for a couple big buy in events. That is why the 5K 8 Game didn't make a comeback this year and why the 25K HR FT won't be filmed this year. Next year that should be fixed, but it wasn't possible for 2014.

Full PCA Schedule below...

Re: 2014 PokerStars PCA: January 5-13 ($10m GTD Main Event)

Yeah, I get that there are four 5ks that you'd like to run (PLO, NLHE, 6max, 8game) and only two good days (that don't conflict with main/25k starting days) to start them on, and that NLHE is P1, PLO is P2, 6max is P3 and therefore relegated to starting alongside the 25k, and 8game is P4 and thereby dropped.

I guess another option would be to start it Friday evening at like 5pm instead. HR players will still play it, knowing that they can reg on Day 2 of the HR, and the only way they miss the HR is if they FT. 5k full ring players will have until 9pm or whatever to get in it, so you might lose a few players who bust after 9pm and would've entered the next day, but probably fewer than you gain.

But I assume there are issues with the fact that it will probably go into a day 3 if you don't play those extra levels on Day 1, so ya I guess it's just kind of a mess with 1 shorter day.

Oh well, gg I guess, still looks like a kickass series

Yeah, big thumbs down to having the $5K 8max and $5K 6max overlap with each other and having both overlap with the $25K.

Re: 2014 PokerStars PCA: January 5-13 ($10m GTD Main Event)

Hi all,

Steve - 10 - I've emailed Mike to ask. I'll post when I find out.

Golden - 11 - You've posted many of the points we discussed. The lack of an extra day really cramps the 5K+ buyins. For the last few years, the HR has started on Day 5 of the ME giving that extra space in the middle of the tourney. With it needing to go back to Day 4, it created significant issues as you noted. I agree 100% with the end of your post though, it is still going to be an amazing series! I always love going to the PCA!

Todd - 12 - This is a case where I'm not sure I could have won your approval this year Todd. When we had the 5K on Day 2 I know you were unhappy because so many people are still in the Main and it impacted the number. But if it goes on Day 3, it overlaps the HR.

Cheers,

Neil

I kind of feel live hyperturbo sngs would be real popular, but ofc I'm real biased, so take it fwiw.

6max PCA
5000 chips, blinds up every 4 hands
100/200/25
150/300/25
200/400/50
300/600/50
400/800/100
500/1000/100
600/1200/100
700/1500/200
1000/2000/200

When online poker opens in NJ in November, will there be satellites (live or online) to the PCA there?

I don't think Neil can comment on anything about NJ yet but if we do get a definitive answer on this when Pokerstars do get a license, I would sure hope it's good news.

From your schedule posted above it seems like there are two 1K+1K Super KOs but the website just says 1000+200. Which is right? Also what kind of OFC tourney rules are you using these days (four handed? pay out left of the button in case of short stacks?) Thanks!

Re: 2014 PokerStars PCA: January 5-13 ($10m GTD Main Event)

Hi all,

The full schedule, include starting stacks, level times, etc... can be found here. http://www.pokerstarscaribbeanadvent...a-schedule.pdf

Steve - 10 - Looks like 60 minutes Day 1 and 90 minutes Day 2+. Eight levels on Day 1, followed by 5 levels a day through the end. PCA will also get the same late reg. changes that EPT instituted. All tourneys get 4 levels of late registration and the ME, HR and SHR will have until the start of Day 2.

Alex - 14 - We have looked at something along those same lines. Basically really fast flipaments. We tried a couple of them last year at PCA, but they never really got off the ground. It will be back up for discussion again this year.

Twenty - 15 - I have no comment on the situation in New Jersey, sorry. Not because I don't want to comment but because I don't know anything

Super - 17 - It is two 1K+1K's. Apparently it is a formatting thing on the webpage, they're looking at it.

OFC is table stakes, 4 handed, left of the button payouts and timed levels. We are toying with the idea of Fantasyland, but I'm not 100% sure which way it will go yet. Talking with the players in London for the OFC tournament there, they mostly agreed that Fantasyland is needed in the tourney, but Barry Greenstein had a great point that a Fantasyland hand deep in a tourney could allow a player to possibly scoop out his table Most of the players agreed that that could be a problem. I'm happy to hear any feedback!

sdeep - 18 - You can wire to Atlantis for cash games, to GPTL for tourneys, or use your PS Account to play all tourneys.

Chunk - 19 - Email Registrations@pslive.com for all details.

Cheers,

Neil
