i've never stayed in IP/theQuad, but I've stayed a few times each at the other 3. If you plan on playing any deepstacks at the V or the Wynn and you don't care about a good pool, Harrahs. If you want to hang out at the pool, The Flamingo. If you plan on playing at Bellagio, MGM, or Aria, stay at Ballys.
I would assume the shuttle from Ballys to Rio would be quicker as well, not that big a deal I know. If you do Ballys, the north tower is better.
of the basic rooms that you could get based on cleanliness, Ballys North>Harrahs>Flamingo>>>>quad.
Also, I believe there is a promo at Ballys for free rooms if you play poker for 6 hours. you might want to call the poker room to ask.

I prefer Flamingo over Harrah's. The rooms I had at Flamingo were definitely nicer than the one at Harrah's. The Flamingo Go rooms are also nicer and bigger than the refurbished Harrah's room you can upgrade to.
I've search the forums for this for a few days now and cannot find a definitive answer. Anyone know if you can register for multiple DS tournaments with the $500 tournament buy-in chips (lammers), that you can win in the $75 9AM turbo mega satellite, or other satellites? Could I register for like 3 DS tournament for days in advance and pay any remaining balance? I thought I read on pocketfives or some link through google that a guy did this, but I cannot find the site again.
Rule 38 from 2012 States "WSOP Buy-In Chips are no cash value chips won by a Participant in a Satellite Tournament conducted at the Casino which may only be applied toward Tournament buy-ins equal to or greater than $500 commencing on May 27th and concluding on July 16th, 2012. All WSOP Buy-In Chips will expire on July 16th, 2012 and will not be accepted at any future WSOP event or any other event at the Casino or any of its affiliates."
Is buy-ins plural, in the aspect that I could register for multiple tournaments with 1 chip, provided I meet the $500 minimum and register for any combination of satellites or DS tournaments and pay cash for any remaining balance. Or does it mean that I must at least buy into one of the many tournaments that individually cost more than $500?
I've never heard of anyone trying to use a lammer for more than one tournament. As to the phrasing of the rule, I'm guessing the Tournament buy-ins part is plural because the sentence starts out with plural WSOP Buy-in chips. It's still one lammer (or more) per buy-in. Otherwise why would they mention the $500 cutoff at all? It would be implied that you'd want to get full value for your lammer. So I think they're saying that you can only use lammers on individual tournaments that cost $500 or more.
Selling lammers for cash is pretty easy, though, so just plan on doing that if you want to play deep stacks. Hang out in front of the cage before a bracelet event or a $550 Mega and you'll quickly find someone willing to swap even money for a lammer.
I also remember people using lammers to buy into multiple 1-table sats, not sure re DDS events though, perhaps contact WSOP to ask and post response?
I'm not sure if the DDS events are open for registration prior to the day on which they are held, which would make it difficult to register in advance.

Reason: additional thought
I think I saw in a thread last year that if you pay with lammers you're refunded in lammers, so if you buy in to two <$500 tourneys with one lammer and un-reg one of them how do you get your refund?
In past years they have been real hardasses wrt using a single lammer to buy into multiple tournaments, but there were so many reports of people being allowed to last year that it seems they've changed their policy. I think I remember someone even saying they used a lammer to buy two people into a tournament.
Selling the lammers has become tougher than ever. They had the full Gestapo out last year. I couldn't walk 50 feet without passing by a suit or unform looking to prevent lammer sales. It was ridiculous.
Last year I suggested making a thread to set up a lammer marketplace with transactions to take place at a location away from the suits but I don't think it ever happened.

At which point in the series was this? Towards the end of the series last year when I played a few SNGs and satellites people were doing so right out in the open in front of the staff/security. Maybe they slacked off on this as the series dragged on.

I think the time of day makes a difference. Last year I remember seeing all the uniforms during daylight hours, but not around midnight (when I normally register).
Yeah, these turn into a crapshoot at the final table. The payouts are great for the buy-in, but it doesn't really let you play for the big money. The deep stack is like 30 big blinds deep and average stack is less than 20. One hand is often the difference between winning a few hundred, or taking a top three spot.
"The fields are loaded with pros and novices, and you may even see some world champions enter the mix during the summer. Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer both took part in Daily Deepstacks $235 events last summer, and Raymer even made a deep run in one, finishing 31st for $836."
