Unfortunately there are few scenarios that we comp hotel rooms. We do have a casino rate for those that play. Come and introduce yourself, Matt and I always in the Ballroom.

I played in Day 1A yesterday of the 250K Guarantee. Over 400 people.... I didnt cash, but I cant wait until this weekend to give it another shot. On a side note.. IMO the tournament food at The Commerce is really subpar compared to The Bikes tournament offerings. I would almost say that The Bikes food is great (the brisket, the turkey).. while the food I had last night was dry and tough. I couldn’t even cut the beef with a knife. I asked for a new piece and it was just as tough. Seems like a little thing, but I honestly look forward to the food at The Bike, and it makes a long tourney day a little more bearable. However, I do think the Commerce staff is nicer and more accommodating (especially the tournament cage).

Does anyone know what the deal with satellites is? Doesn’t seem to be many listed on the official list, which is kind of disappointing.

What do you mean satellites?

We are running $40, $80, $120 single table satellites

We also have a nightly $225/$200 super for the main event with a seat guaranteed at 7pm and a $150 Turbo Mega with 3-$1,100 seats guaranteed at 9pm. There are 23-$1,100 events and megas throughout the LAPC in which you can use the $1,100 lammers.

Off to a good start in the $225 buy-in $250,000 guarantee with day 1A amassing nearly $90,000 in prize money with 5 heats left to go. The Prize pool should easily be over $500,000 by the time the last heat takes place.

Day 1B today at 5pm with 2 heats on Friday and Saturday at 1pm and 5pm.

Played golf today in 78 degree weather and ready for another great night of work!

Hope to see you out at the Commerce!!!

There was a question from a Swede about tax withholding and I'd like to elaborate on it if I may. "Documentation you reside in a Tax treaty country". Is that just a passport or do you have to actually prove you live/reside there with other documentation - if so what? Also I have an ITIN Number. Do I just need to bring the number written down or the official paperwork when I received it. Sate Tax is 8.25

Edit. Perhaps I misunderstood ITIN's. I thought you needed one even if from a treaty country. I have one for other reasons but if it's irrelevant that's fine but please let me know other parts. Might seem trivial but I'd be pissed off if I did luck box a Mil and then lost half of it to Uncle Sam as I didn't bring the correct paperwork...........

When's the cash action the best during LAPC.. is it in the week leading up to the main event and during? Or would it be around Chinese New Year time this year(Feb 10)?

Thanks.

For sure the last three weeks of the LAPC the action will be greatly increased but it has already started to pick up.

462 for day 1B for a combined $176,000 in the prize pool in first 2 of the 6 heats. I am pretty sure we will surpass the $250,000 guarantee. There are two heats tomorrow and Saturday at 1pm and 5pm.

Here is the schedule

The 40-80 Omaha half kill 60-120 started on Sunday 1/20 and have been running pretty much 24/7 with sometimes 2 tables after 4pm.

Pots are so big, you need a shovel to scoop

Mon-Wed this week they had 10-10 PLO8 and 40-80 OE that ran all night.

I just got back today and the 40-80 Omaha is going with names on the board 60-120 OE about to start

Where is everybody staying? I'm not interested in staying near/around Commerce(bad or uninteresting areas), have been looking as far as Pasadena, Hacienda Heights, Fullerton(I know those areas are better, have been before, etc), but it seems in LA if you want to pay anywhere below $80/night you can just expect a ****hole if reviews on tripadvisor are to be believed...

Matt- 2 questions. I noticed the final event is "player appreciation". It doesn't say how you qualify. Also, I'm curious.. why so many turbo events this year? Personally, I stay away from anything with under 30 minute levels. I'm playing the $340 event today, but after that, everything is either a high buy in or a turbo event for the remainder of the series. It would be awesome if either #21 or #67 weren't turbo. thanks

1. All you have to do is play 1 LAPC Event during the series in order to play the Players Appreciation.

2. Not really, #54, #56 and #59 are right up your alley. $340 buy-in with great structures!!

The LA market has clamored for more 1-day events and in order to accommodate, we needed to put more turbos on the schedule. We also feel never want a player in the smaller buy-in events to return in to a 2nd day outside the money.

Matt, so play 1 event and you qualify for Players Appreciation paying $100 to enter?

Also, to make it clear on the tax rules, ALL non-CA USA residents pay what, 10.5% or something? Is it on cash above $5K profit? All foreigners without tax treaty pay 30% on $5K profit too, correct? And this is claimed back the year after with IRS?

Thanks.

Yes, play in 1 LAPC event and bring a single $100 and you are in

Non-Cal residents pay 7% tax to the great busted state of California but you can write it off against loses and receive a rebate I am told.

Foreign player have country by country deals in regards to taxes
