OK i've never been to LAPC but probably looking to head out. I know both the $250k GTD events have re-entry. On the website says you can re-enter b4 level 4 on the 1st 250k and b4 level 8 on the 2nd 250k, My question is:

What is the rule for each day/heat? If I make a day2 stack on 1A what is the rule for 1b,c, and D?

You can technically cash in every heat (though it would be difficult) and take your biggest stack through to day two. If you make day two more than once then you will get the pay amount of the lowest day two cash spot and your chips will be taken out of play.

If I'm not with anyone do I have to valet then? I've heard plenty of horror stories with valet actually... as in cars scratched with Commerce not liable for damage, valet guys sifting through contents of glovebox, etc etc..

Valet isn't an option if u have anything in your car of value anywhere, not just commerce. I'd suggest self parking in the well lit lot right next to casino, but not going back to your car alone late at night.

What are the best recommendations for long term hotel/rentals near here? If I want to look into a short-term condo rental what area/city do you recommend looking in?

Best ive found is guesthouse inn suites on telegraph rd. Reasonable weekly rates and nice rooms breakfast etc

pretty sure they do 120/night flat rate for poker, but not sure if they change that for the lapc or not


then again i've never done it during the week, have only pulled the 2fer1 deal on the weekend (play through friday night, early check in at like 8am for sat & crash sat morning and night) and it was 120



also re the security thing: i've left this place with huge lump sums of cash countless times all alone at like 3-5 am to the self parking lot and never once had a problem with it. like chainsaw i never valet and dont really recommend it unless you have a lambo that wouldn't be safe in self park next to an 85 carolla. if you think you're even remotely at risk, just hang out around the cameras for a while and/or kick a security guard a 20 to walk you to your car. the com isn't that huge so if you're unsure just do a quick lap around the place and you'll know quite easily if you're being followed. etc. standard stuff really. i think most of the horror stories come from people who were somewhat oblivious to their surroundings.

Wow the limit game structures are way improved over previous years. I may play the whole month.

They finally fixed it. No more 5-6k stacks playing 300-600 2hours in. If something's done right I applaud them. Sam and Matt got it right. 2day events 10k stacks. Thanks!

I'm really not sure what the regular rate is currently but once you check in, we can get you the players rate which is $140 per night inclusive of taxes. I know the rate is not great but the hotel has always sold out during the LAPC and Matt and I have found it difficult to convince the powers that be to reduce the rate. There are other hotels nearby such as the Doubletree, Embassy Suites and Kessler's favorite, Guesthouse Suites. Shop around or if you prefer the convenience of being upstairs from the action, book early. We do sellout.

Structure for the main anywhere? Sorry if I just missed it, skimmed real quick

I live in Rosarito, Mexico (30 mins south of san diego) and am SNE+ on PS....is it worth my time to come for just the ME or is the field not that soft for a 21 yr old online pro wth only ~400 hrs of live exp? Thinking of coming for the ME, wouldn't come for anything else as it's not worth my time.

Last year there were 549 players with first place paying $1,370,240 and 2nd paying $806,370.

I was planning on coming on the 15 of jan will there be plo cash games running mid-high stakes? Which limits ?

Are there usually any 20 40+ stud8 or O8 games running during this series?

40-80 Omaha8 for sure which is more gun slinging than Gunsmoke. 75-150 & 150-300 a couple of weeks after LAPC starts.

I do not recall seeing 20-40 Stud8 nor O8 or OE in the last couple of years.

Commerce does have 20-40 & 30-60 Stud daily all year around, without a tournament going.

We need as many young online 3 and 4 and 5 betters with air, in a live 10K as possible. Thats how we get free chips. Bring your friend also.

All kidding aside, LAPC 10K gets over 200 satellite qualifiers, Hollywood actors & directors, producers and as many SAG's and Iranian & Persian players than any other WPT on earth.

And the 10-20NL cash game is the best on earth, which is really suited for an online guy because it is a 600 min buyin, but most players have 5-10K in the front which plays like a MTT.

If that's to low stakes they have 20-40NL, 50-100NL and the PLO 2K buyin is ridiculous.

Just jump on I-5 freeway north set the cruise on 70mph and 3hrs exit Washington Blvd and BOOM your at the "GREATEST POKER CASINO ON PLANET EARTH".

There is only 1 day 1 for event 61 10k main? When does registration close? Any chance to start on day 2?
