Yesterday I played in event #16 (350+50) at the Borgata and finished 40/185 entries( includes re-buys). I realize I need help with my game so I am posting this for just that. Background: Ive been playing poker in casinos for few two years. I have played in two Ballys daily tournaments in AC for about a $100 buy in each. First one I chopped five ways for about $725. The second I finished 10/58 and didn't cash (lost all in w AA v. TT). Yesterday, tourney started at 11(15k starting stack) and by 12 I had 12k. To my right was a guy who had 60k by 130pm and who incidentally busted out at 3pm. I chose not to rebuy and realized I had to play tight with a smallish stack. I nostly played premium hands and j5 suited and > OOP. From 1 until 245pm I really didnt get any cards and won a few small pots. My QQ cracked AA at 245pm to DU to 20k. Had 27k then lost antes and blinds due to no cards. Concurrently, people stacks were growing while mine was getting smaller--to 12k. Won a few pots in next two hours and was up to 21.5k. All folded except me and another so I bluff raised 3k OTB w 10 6off. Flop was 892 rainbow. Turn came 8 and I bet 7k representing the set. He raised. I folded. I made it to 515pm with 12k barely getting cards. Prior to 515pm I reraised a fellow who knew I was playing tight. Beat him twice. 515pm came and I had 9dTd in BB. SB minus 1 folded, and it was just me and SB. SB had 70k ish raised to 5k and I shoved. He called after thinking a bit. Turned over QJ os. He flopped a q and the rest was history. I realize two things: 1. to take advantage of weak players early in tournament (couldn't do that bc I didnt want to risk my tournament life w roughly 10k in chips at 12pm) and 2. my play is perhaps too tight. Criticize, critique, and praise. Do whatever you want. I welcome and appreciate it ALL. Perhaps someone can recommend a book ( I read Gus Hansens on the Aussie Millions and watched the 2012 WSOP intently). Thanks again.
you did everything perfectly.

i realize that i am too late with this advice but it is very important: never, never, EVER take 206. it literally doesn't matter how much traffic there is on the gsp.

i will also say that you can avoid one of the stupid 1.50 tolls by just taking 287 all the way down to the parkway, and it won't add very much time to the trip at all.

That would be good. The prize pools for Omaha tournaments and such just aren't beefy enough as they are

only problem is they will run that tournament and maybe get 27 entries.

They'd have to play in the dark because 50 people don't generate enough casino income to keep the lights on.

That's why you run multiple tournaments at the same time like they usually do anyway? And poker buyins dont keep the lights on anyway the 9 dollar bottled water does.

water is free and sufb with all this random mixed game nonsense. theyve tried it in the past numerous times and it never catches on. go to vegas. i hear they are having a few tournaments there or something.

your best bet to see mixed games will be in september... so look out for them there.

150's maybe... but last year i outright won 2 and final tabled another tourney on the 3rd, 4th and 5th. there so soft and alot of gf/wives annoyed there men to go out. idk if i just got lucky with the table draw but a few guys punted there stack for no other reason but to go out or they were already drunk.

my 4th of july was on the 6th when i was back home with friends but it was worth not partying at borgata those days.. i got my room for cheap cheap too. so last year worked out. this year they want $300+ a night.

Hotels make their money from holidays, so I can't blame them for the excessive prices. But 150? Seems low for a weekend ish holiday tourney when a lot of people will be in AC for J4.

You were spot on--153ish bought (RE included). I busted right about out of the bubble. Anyhow, are you planning on playing in below tournament? Do most people play multiple days or only people who don't have many chips? How many do you think will register?

Anyone know where the F*** the structure sheets are for this series? Can't find it anywhere on Borgata's website and also searched this thread. Also cannot find info on satellites to the championship event.
