I am new to this site so I cannot create threads and all that but I am looking for a backer for a few events at the Borgata Summer Open. I am from NJ have a family and work full time. I have had some moderate success you can view online (my name Daryl Boatwright). You can determine the split I just enjoy and want to play but due to my family responsibilities I am in need of some financial backing to get me jump started again. I am not dead money so anyone seriously interested in at least talking in more detail my number is 856-831-8565 or can be emailed at darylboatwright@gmail.com

Wife unemployed right now so I gave poker up for a bit to get back to work full time. My bankroll to play poker is extremely low so looking for backing deals at your terms.

Well it's not allowed outside of the marketplace.

Is there online registration for this series? I am not finding it on the web page.

If not, how long are we expecting the line for registering for event #1 tomorrow morning?

online registration ended May 30th. it really shouldn't be that bad to register tomorrow. borgata does a decent job moving the line.

So looking at event 1, does that mean day 1a or day 2b will end around what time?

Does that mean day 2 probably will end extremely late thus it start at 12pm but the tournament probably will end at 8am? Does anyone know based on past experiences typically how long a tourney would finish?

What about those 1 day tournaments? I see quite a few that start at 11am or 12pm. Are those going to end like 9am the following day since its 1 day events?

Would like to play a borgata tournament but i read something that these tournaments end extremely late such as instead of ending day 1 at 1am then end it even later?

Where did you get this information? I am looking to play in Event#3 or #4 and reading through the Borgata poker blog. 22 hours play for day is insane - esp if we are supposed to start day 2 within the next 4 hours!

Day 1 has a set time to end. all you have to do is look at the structure sheets and do the math to figure out what time it will end. Here is the sheet for the first tourney
http://www.theborgata.com/assets/PDF...er_Open_01.pdf

On the last day of any tourney they play to completion. Can some go from 12pm till 9am-yes but most don't

FWIW, there was no line at 12:30 today..

There were about 450+ entries for 1a.. so prolly close to double that for 1b.
Parx and Delaware park may have problems meeting guarantees, but Borgata seems like its in another planet :-)

pretty decent turnout if 555 true

Just got here. Screen says 658 for entries.

LOL. Ok, so I arrive at noon for the 11AM tournament. They give me an alternate # in the high 50s. I don't get entered into the tournament until 4pm--- 3 minutes before the end of the re-entry period, and its at a table of ALL NEW entrants. Now re-entry is done. All the while there are some new cash tables being opened. Fair?

Given that you come in as an alternate, you do want a table of ALL NEW entrants. If you get to one of the tables that was their from the very beginning, you would likely have a bunch of 60k+ stacks to tangle with.

With only 20BB at this point I like the ability to double more than once, and big stacks to be raising/calling lighter... Just surprised I barely get in having shown up at 12

Did you know you would be an alternate while in reg line or during registration?

In reg line. They started handing out alternate cards while people were waiting around noon. They called only 25 alternates by 3 hours later. Some people were scalping their alternate cards

Damn. Looks like I have to register early to avoid being on alternate list. Thanks and hope you survived?

Yeah I was one of the guys that ended up as an alternate and didn't event get to play after showing up at noon. Pretty ridiculous

Made day two. Are table draws gonna be posted online anywhere?
06-06-2013 , 08:10 AM

No, what's ridiculous is that you would show up an hour after the start of a second Day 1 AT BORGATA for EVENT #1, always the most heavily attended.
This ain't Delaware Park where they miss the guarantee in their Main Event and have an overlay of $100,000.
This is Borgata.
Did you just step off a spaceship from another planet?
Have you no inkling of past attendances?
More importantly, have you learned anything from this experience?
