Well Jimmy, perhaps by 2012, your company might decide to get a Casino spot in Ohio, as the voters there last november, approved a measure to put in Casinos in Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, and Cincinnati.

If they are smart, and they did decide to get a property at one of the new spots in Ohio, if they'd put it in one of the first 3 cities I listed. Columbus because it's central to Ohio, and Toledo, because it would draw in all of Michigan, as well as the northeastern Indiana region, and Northwestern Ohio, and Cleveland because of upper ohio and western PA.

First Casinos in Ohio I heard, will be most likely opening in 2012.

Other then that, they'd be smart to next year, to hold the regional event at the Horseshoe SW, where there is at least a hotel there that ppl can stay in.

Either that, or perhaps Harrahs would be smart to buy one of the local hotels there, close to the Casino and make it a Harrahs Hotel of some kind, or do a deal like the one they currently have in CB Iowa with one of the close by hotels in the area, where people could even book the hotel rooms through the Harrahs website.

I understand the frustration for out-of-towners regarding the Shoe in Hammond not having a hotel. However, suggesting the regional be held anywhere but Chicago area just doesn't hold any water. The Chicago area stop is the crown jewel of this tourney circuit. The field sizes at it break records every year. TONS of Chicago area poker players show up in droves to these events. Expect another record or two to fall this year. They could probably draw 2,000 people for event #1 if they had the space.

Heard a rumor that Choctaw in Durant will be one of the added wsopc stops. Any comment on adding the possibility of adding the Tunica Horseshoe, Choctaw and you running all new wsopc events?
Might look into Horseshoe. Can't respond to a Choctaw event. But if they would get a spot, I am under contract with them...

All 'Ring Events" will be using the Poker Tournament Consultants structures. If it is not a ring event, they can use any structure they choose.

May contact poker room. I do not direct the Chicago event. Charlie Ciresi and Steve Frezer are the directors of this event. I am sure they will have the schedule of events posted shortly.

Jimmy, have you noticed a disproportionate amount of interest for the Hammond event in this thread? Hint, hint.

You have been an awesome help so far. I know I'll be playing in Hammond. Wish I had the roll to come visit you at your destinations. You have been so helpful in answering everyone's questions fairly. Whether it be hotels, structures, dates, transportation, or events that don't even pertain to you. Whatever the case may be, you have had an answer for everything. Everything has been right on par with you. And for that, on behalf of the rest of the forum readers, I definitely thank you for your straight on, prompt repsonses. You're alright in my book and I'm sure everyone elses in this forum. Thanks much Jimmy.

I assume the ME schedule will be adjusted?

Google Docs would be a good alternative to Dropbox, imo.

Thanks for the information.

I'm assuming he means the $10K regional championship. the structure sheet looks exactly the same as the $1500 main event, which lasts 3 days.

jimmy, are the dates for lake tahoe in november final?? if not PLEASE consider moving the main event to start like by the 24th at the earliest, because the venetian is having their $2.5k main event on nov 21st. i seriously doubt you will draw many las vegas area pros, who will mostly be coming back from the NAPT at the bike the week before. i know if given the choice i'm staying at home rather than driving to tahoe for a 1.5k event. i will for SURE attend if you move it back to the 24th tho!

edit: oh, wait, the 24th is the day before thanksgiving... why not have it start on the 17th or 18th of november? the NAPT i think should be over by the 17th, and if you're still in the main event there you won't mind missing a 1.5k in tahoe. if you have it then, i'm also certain to play both your event an the venetian's.

(1)So all of the Regional Championship events will have the same structure as the one at Rincon?

(2) You've got a great structure (Rincon Event 38, except see below), why not now allocate the number of days required -- five -- to provide at least 12 hours between the last hand of a day and the first hand of the next, at least for the first three (of five) days?

As it stands, assuming 15 minute breaks except for a 75-minute dinner break, and no slippage, Day 1 is 14:05 long and Day 2 is 13:10 long. The chance that I'm going to fade that to travel to a destination delight such as Hammond is vanishingly small, and to the other three just small.

(3) Level / ante / SB / BB / ante as % of SB
12 / 100 / 500 / 1000 / 20%
23 / 2000 / 5000 / 10000 / 40%
30 / 10000 / 25000 / 50000 / 40%
...and...
15 / 200 / 800 / 1600 / 25%
25 / 3000 / 8000 / 16000 / 37.5%
...and...
13 / 100 / 600 / 1200 / 16.7%
24 / 2000 / 6000 / 12000 / 33.3%

I think antes should be fairly consistent as a proportion of the blinds, i.e., within a range of 16.7% to 33.3% of the small blind and the same percentage where one level is 10x another.

They actually had it slated as a 3 day tournament. I informed them it had to be 4 days. Do n ot think I can convince 5 days. At this point the antes will probabbly stay, as we have already finalized. I really respect your opinion and wish now , I would have passed it by you earlier. If only the antes are bad, in your opinion, I feel like I acomplished a goal. Hope to see you Steve.
