I won my second 10K seat in a mega this evening (brag) and went over to the satellite area to sell some of the lammers, I immediately sold 3 of them and then this shady looking dude came up to me and said "I'll buy the rest for 7K.." I told the dude I had 7.5K though and he responded in a menacing tone "ya but they worth nothing soon and you won't be able to sell them, they worth nothing to you then, better sell them to me now and just eat the .5k or you get nothing, you're not suppose to sell them here, security will kick you out of the casino but I won't tell.."

I told the guy to go **** himself, seriously, and then walked directly to the main cage, stood in line and asked the first guy I saw if he would buy them from me, a nice player named Kevin snap said yes and i got full face for the remainder of my lammers, right after he said "we've all been there, glad to help." My sentiments exactly, I always buy lammers at full face when possibly just to help people out, there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't all help each other out.

That guy that tried to intimidate me into paying less than full face is a piece of **** scumbag trying to exploit a horrible lammer system that benefits no one but the greedy Rio. Let's all try to help one another out as fellow poker players and buy lammers at full face when possible, you know down the line you will need it too, it costs nothing and at the very least is good karma equity, before i won the seats I bought about 5k of lammers off people i didn't know just to help them out as it cost me NOTHING and I was entering events already. Completely against organizing any system that allows a small % of people to exploit fellow players over f%&$ing lammers.

I don't feel as strongly as some of the participants in this thread, but this year - for the first time ever - I did buy some lammers.

In the past, the miniscule chance of being passed a fake [has this ever happened ?] and/or the tiny chance of being caught up in some kind of WSOP clampdown [has this ever happened?] always put me off.

I paid full face whilst in line to buy in -- in one case I was buying in for a $550 mega at the satellite cage. On the 2nd occasion, I bought 3 lammers as I was getting in line to buy in for a $1500.

For me, the "good of the poker community" was sufficient reason to break my previous policy of not buying lammers even though there is no "upside" as such.

Having said that, I do respect the points made by some here who reason (logically) that lammers are worth less than cash. I think those players are entitled to bid less than face, provided they are courteous and well-behaved about it.

I'm a purely recreational player, but I can understand that the professionals want to think about all the edges out there. Buying lammers at < face seems much more acceptable to me than some of the angle-shooting that goes on at the tables in the name of gaining an advantage.

Has there ever been a fake lammer caught at the Rio WSOP?

I can't imagine anyone going to that much trouble to fake a lammer. You don't even know what they look like until the Series starts, and it would take some expensive machinery to make chips like that. You would have to pass a ton of them to make it worthwhile, and the chance of an irate customer that you ripped off finding you later and stabbing you is too risky for the possible gains.

Not exactly a lammer question, but does anyone know how long the 4pm $550 today and the 1pm $1060 tomorrow are likely to last? Time, not levels.

I mention today and tomorrow's assuming large fields, and don't want answers based on last couple of weeks satellites.

I was told that yesterday's 1pm went until 10-11pm. It had 550+ runners, and today's is 967, so ymmv.

Has selling lammers been a problem in recent years? I haven't been back to the WSOP in 3 years but I never had problems selling mine. As to whether or not they're fake, I accompanied a player to the cage, he asked the cashier if my lammers were good. Cashier said they were and we made the exchange right there. No probs.

Some idiot tried to buy 2500 in lammers for 2k, claiming that my profit is still a lot from a 275 SNG. The next person I asked paid face. Some people lol

Now that the main event has started do they still pay lammers for single table sng wins? If so, what do people spend them on?

If they are still running STTs there are still Carnivale events goin on. I would assume they could be used for those.

I think it's awful that they put an expiration date on the Lammers. What benefit does this serve?
