8 handed , 20 minutes remaining from day 1.
I have 3 bet villain 2 orbits before and got to go all in w a short stack and he saw me table a6o and made a comment.
Villain is tight.
Blinds 800/ 1600 effective stacks 95000 each . Bb is away and villain opens from utg+1 to 3700, hero AJ o raises to 9000 villan calls .

Flop:
Aj10 r

Villan checks , hero bets 11000, villan check raises to 25000 hero???

10s,JJ,AA in his range, if you call the money is most likely going in on the turn. There will only be a pot sized bet left behind.

If you’re unsure you could min raise fold to a jam, or min raise hope for a call and look to check back turn if opponent checks.

Damn, tough spot on the bubble. With this dynamic against this opponent you prob should just look to flat call preflop instead of 3 betting again. The more you 3bet against a competent opponent the more they narrow their range and only continue with a strong hand.

This is really mubsy thinking I don’t really see how you can get away with this hand. Sorry if you got coolered.

C/R TT, JJ and especially AA is a really bad play IMO because you are likely to fold most of your 3-betting/ continuation range (at least the part of your range he beats). But you say he's tight so I suppose that sort of sub-standard play is in his range. I would probably flat his C/R and re-evaluate on the turn.

The one thing you did which I would not have for sure was bet 11K on the flop. A 50%+ bet on a fairly dry board is just too big IMO. Something in the 25-33% range would have been better. Assuming the villain still C/R, a smaller bet would give you more (and better)options. You could 4-bet/fold like BreadFish mentioned and it would lose you fewer chips. Or you could flat for less. You could even make a small bet for value on the river if the villain held something like AK, AQ, KK or QQ and it gets checked twice to you. In any case, with your bet sizing, you're probably left to call all in or fold on the turn/river if the villain puts any pressure on you, and that is certainly a riskier position on the bubble.
