Re: WSOP Circuit 2017-2018 Schedule

Oh wow, thank you for posting this! I figured it wouldnt come out until July.

Two stops at Choctaw. Probably a good idea. I was JUST thinking that it would be a good idea for them to go to Seminole Hard Rock Florida and lo and behold, there it is. I bet that one might shatter records. They always kill it with huge fields there.

My only disappointment is that Lake Charles still cant manage to get a stop. It would undoubtedly destory with Houston just 2 hours away, begging for a legitimate tournament series.

When do you think the series schedules will become available?

Re: WSOP Circuit 2017-2018 Schedule

Two stops at Choctaw is great. Glad to see they are doing Tulsa again, I know turnout was somewhat small, but that was a really great venue, looking forward to going back up there.

Will need significant assurances that the Rio stop will be better than last time with the logistical issues and tables on the floor. Since they didn't have much notice last time, maybe it will be different, please just hold the damn thing in Pavilion!

Yeah, I heard Tulsa went well. I did not go, but I have a feeling it will only continue to improve. First year is probably always tough since people arent used to it and dont know what to expect. I am hopeful that it will have better turnout in 2018 than 2017.

Me too. The tournament room was nice and comfortable, and they had a players lounge with free water/soda and very reasonably priced food and alcohol.

Only issue I had was one set of chips was ludicrous with the 25 and 500 chips being borderline indistinguishable. Literally inconceivable to me that someone got paid for making that decision.

Nice. Wern't the room rates insanely good as well? I think I remember seeing rates at only like $69 a night during the series AT the Hard Rock itself.

I think I saw that as well. My stepdad lives in Tulsa, so I crashed with him.

Re: WSOP Circuit 2017-2018 Schedule

Really glad to see the Vegas stop back at PH in November.

Just noticed they added a third stop in Vegas in late March at PH. Interesting timing. This is the busiest time of year in Vegas. I wonder if travelers will be turned off by the much higher hotel rates. Hopefully Caesars can offer good poker rates during this time.

Re: WSOP Circuit 2017-2018 Schedule

Does anyone have that ranking that has been posted in prior new season's schedule threads that ranks the $365 re-entry and main event tournaments by the size of the 1st prize values from the prior year? It would be nice to see the one for the 2016-2017 season now that it is drawing to a close.

Choctaw and Cherokee are always highest turnout for both.

I know bigtex is as happy as the rest of us that Choctaw finally got another stop. Was crazy that others had three and Choctaw only had one.

Yep the number one stop on the circuit as far as number of players, friendly tourney staff and I get to visit family in Ft Worth and Oklahoma. Been wanting to tell people about this since January but I couldn't until contract was signed and wsopc released the schedule.

It should be interesting to see if it performs as well with it spread out over two stops in essentially two months now. Hopefully so.

Any inside insight on when the Choctaw schedules will be released?

I would bet that both stops still have highest turnouts of any stops. And usually a couple months before.

Re: WSOP Circuit 2017-2018 Schedule

Just thought about it- Not one event west of Durant, Oklahoma that is not in California or Nevada. Pretty bad for western poker players. Why Can't there be one at Blackhawk, Phoenix, or Seattle?

No insight yet as Jimmy is just finishing up the Choctaw WPT in July schedule and will be posting that in a week or two.

Just talked to the TD and I would expect the schedule to be out very soon as he has submitted it to Choctaw gaming & the casino as soon as he gets their Ok it will be released.
