Good luck getting set up. I tried for hours with tech support to get approved, sitting in the Gold Coast. They couldn't identify me as being positively in NV. They said I was "too close to California", which is ludicrous.

This seems really stupid. Room for 450 players? Maybe that will be enough for one of the two night tournaments, but not the afternoon ones. They can't possibly be considering splitting any of those players into Miranda - announcements will get screwed up, hand-for-hand will be a nightmare, etc.

Agreed. Whoever made this decision has NEVER been involved with running the 2pm DDS the last few years. The current location wasn't 100% perfect, but it worked well enough.

Re: WSOP- 2017 ?

WSOP just tweeted this info in "new and noteworthy" and it says the Miranda tables will be primarily used for DDS but doesn't say the DDS will only be in Miranda. Most of the 235s would be in the Pavilion or Amazon I am quite sure.

Re: WSOP- 2017 ?

Would it make sense to do the 2pm in the same location and move the other daily tournaments into the Miranda room? What was the biggest field size for the 2pm last year? 1500-ish?

I think it was bigger than that tbh like 1700+.. would expect turnouts to be bigger this year? Maybe? Nevertheless looking forward to the 235 as well as the series in general!

By the time they are hand for hand everybody will be able to fit in Miranda.

Shot in the dark here, but has anyone ever played the 1k heads up mega before? Curious what the turnout is like, how many matches are played, and how payouts are distributed in this format?

YES.

Park in the convention lot. Keep going right versus going to the Hotel entrance. Free plus easy walk to the WSOP rooms.

Played it a couple years ago, over 64 players. Each row of tables was kind of its own tournament where the winner played the winner of the match next to it and so on. Pretty sure if you win 3 matches you play a 4th for a seat and second gets ~6k but never made it that far.

Hi, I am considering playing in a WSOP Mega Satellite to win a $10K Main Event seat. If I win a seat to the main event, do I need to fill out tax paperwork?

No, you'll revive 10K in $500 lammers (not cashable).

Anyone have an idea of what ID is required to play the casino employees event? I've scoured wsop.com but can't find this info.

It should be there somewhere, it used to be. It states the obvious things like employee ID. You can be a part-time gardener for a casino as long as they issued you an ID.

My brother plays in that. It's your issued ID card or a pay stub. I find it interesting that it takes so little. I can't imagine it'd be too difficult to make a fake ID or pay stub so you can have a chance in a tournament for the same price as Colossus but a field smaller than 1/20th in size.

I am guessing MOST find that the risk of being caught and perma-banned from ALL Caesars properties (and quite likely ALL Nevada properties) simply is not worth the potential small reward...

I would agree except the risk of being caught is minimal, at best.

Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape, or form suggesting people should do this nor am I suggesting it's a good idea. But it really is a flaw they need to fix.

Unless you are ratting your brother out, he actually worked for a casino so there was no reason for anyone to bring up the possibility that he didn't. It is a small world. By the time you are in the money the subject of what casino you work for will come up, and if it doesn't sound right, people will be happy to reallocate the wealth.

Is it? Every casino employee throughout the world knows every other casino employee? I used to work surveillance at a casino and I barely knew the names of the guys in the camera room.

And I'm not "ratting" anyone out. He's worked at the casino he's at for over five years now and is still there. I'm just calling out people who write about this stuff as though they have a clue what they're talking about when they clearly don't. People like yourself.

Wow hostile aren't you.

I was not seriously suggesting you were ratting out your brother. I was implying that no one gets caught because there is nothing to catch.

I suppose one could forge their id, refuse to answer any questions about where they work, hope no one recognizes them in any media pictures or came across them at their actual workplace. Or just pick another tournament.

Re: WSOP- 2017 ?

Right, say you win or even final table. They are going to ask and publicize what casino you work for. Are you going to just fictionalize one? Or say you work for some random small one and just hope that no one who knows better sees it?

That would only matter if you win or get heads up. They asked him where he's from and all that but no specifics about the casino. Again, unless you get heads up, they don't push for that info. And even if they did, you have no obligation to give them the information for publicity purposes. It might set off some alarm bells when you cash out but that's only IF they ask you specifics and IF you decline.

They need a better system for this event. They should at least call the casinos to verify and/or make the players register the name of the place they work at so they can publicly post them somewhere so people can check on one another. But they don't.
