Theres something wrong with current format of prelim no limit circuit events.

Yesterday's 580 buyin played down to only 3 players from 154 starters. This shouldnt happen on that buyin level.*

Current format:
300+65 10k stack
30 min levels 1-12 40 min13-21 50 min after
500+80 same but with 12k stack
1000+125 same but with 15k stack

For the additional buyin, there isnt enough added equity for player.

The 580 is almost double the 365 buyin but only receives 20% more chips. The 1125 is almost triple buyin but only 50% more chips.

My proposal is as follows.
365 as is.
580 12k stack 18 40 min levels day 1 day 2 50 mins starting 3k 6k.
1125 same as 580 but with 15k stack.

All will still finish easily in 2 days, the numbers will go up in the poorly attended 580 and 1125 since a better value for player.*

Agreed. IMO, the ideal day 1 level length for a multi-day tourney is 40 minutes (45 at the most). Any tourney $500+ should be able to offer that.

I suggested them a different structure. Much simpler to implement.

365 10k starting 30 min day 1 / 40 day 2 or FT whichever comes first
580 10k starting 40 min all the way
1125 15k starting 40 min day 1 / 60 min day 2 or FT whichever comes first
Main 1675 20k starting stays as is

The main problem with circuit 1ks is that literally the only difference between a 580 and a 1125 is an extra 25% increase in stack size for basically double the price.

I prefer mine, but yours is obv better than what is currently offered as well.

Agree w/ chainsaw, except the $365's should just be 40 mins for the entire tournament. Instead of 30, then 40, then 50 min, just average it out to 40 min throughout, simple.

The 365s take very long to hit the money as set up currently. Those should have the shortest levels....

avg stack going into day two for the $365 is usally around 100k

Avg stack not always a good indicator. At iowa with a sh***ty 1 day turbo structure, the avg stack at the ft was huge.

Matt Savage uses this analogy to bolster his commerce structures. Just because avg stack is big at the end, doesnt mean the structure was optimal throughout.

Then 40 min day 2/FT (whichever comes first.)

I like it. Gives more separation for double buyin 580 to 1125

if you want more bust out on day 1, just lower the starting stack and increase the levels.

365: 8k - 40 min day 1, 50 min day 2
580: 10k - 50 min day 1, 60 min day 2
1125: 15k - 60 min through out

60 min levels day one are too long. Will take too long to get in the money. Day one levels should be no more than 40-45 minutes.

Basically what I said. Difference is I keep the $580 stack at 10k. Use 40 mins all around. Simple. Also emphasizes difference to the 1k with 15k stack.
