Flashdance
Trading Places
Scarface
Return of the Jedi
And my runner-up for 1983, albeit probably not thought of as an iconic '80s movie, The Right Stuff.
Chalk it up to me never having gotten around to seeing some of those(The Big Chill, Scarface) and the fact I didn't overly love the comedies that much. Risky Business, Trading Places, and National Lampoon were funny movies, but none of em feel into the "favorite" category.
I actually feel that way about a lot of late 70s/80s comedies-Porkies, Stripes, Animal House, Caddyshack, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Its not that they're not funny-they definitely are, but they just don't bridge that gap from good to great for me.
