I am trying to recall any decent film so far this year.

The only film i can recall this year that was decent was "Shot Caller"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4633690/

Also Baby Driver was ok,and Logan i liked, but other than that the Films what i have watched have been few and not good. I'm assuming there must be a load of them coming out soon , cos from what i've seen advertised this year nothing grabbed my attention at all that would give me hope for a oscar.

I mainly watch TV series/boxsets now.

Get Out was very good. A lot of people enjoyed Dunkirk. Otherwise I got nothin'.

Yeah, Get Out was really good. So was Planet of the Apes. Andy Serkis deserves an Oscar.

Definitely a down year, though.

Lady Macbeth was excellent. Should be the breakout role for Florence Pugh.

They get worse every year. Hollywood is basically out of fresh ideas and we see a constant stream of crappy remakes and sequels.

The ideas are out there, but no studio wants to sink 10s of millions into something unproven. All you're going to get are remakes and comic book movies unless the project has big name actors and directors attached to it.

I know lol comic book movies, but it's been a good year for comic book movies. GotG2, Wonderwoman, Spiderman were all solid. New Thor movie looks like a blast.

GoTG2 was awful and I couldn't make it through Wonderwoman Everyone says Spiderman is great though, I'd like to check it out.

I just watched the Big Sick and thought it was good, but overall also disappointed with movies this year. I'm wondering if movies are really getting worse or if I'm just coming down with a case of the olds.

No. 1666 was the worst year for films. Especially in London.

I enjoyed T2: Trainspotting but completely understand if others didn't.

Free Fire was great. I love pretty much anything that Ben Wheatley makes.

Lego Batman Movie was fun and better than the original Lego Movie

Jawbone was decent enough.

I haven't seen but have high hopes for the following movies: Logan, The Big Sick, Baby Driver, & Dunkirk. Invariably I'll think a couple of those are great and a couple will be underwhelming.

Pretty standard year for movies if you ask me.

I have completely gone off movies and I don't think I have watched more than 2 new movies in the last 3 years.
