I met a table full of plo players in Vegas who knew who Gil Scot Herron was, but not RZA or ODB.

We had an adjunct named Tom Jones. He sent my secretary asking a question, and she asked me how to reply. Tell him, "It's not unusual to ask that question . . ."

My secretary didn't quite catch on at first, and then she threw a pen at me.

Down in the tropics, nice warm weather got mt to thinking: if John starts the spring thread now, the weather has to be springlike, right?
01-29-2024 , 10:35 PM
A little snow here yesterday in RI, but I live on the water so only a trace. Still, it gets cold in New England, and it often stays cold into May. So no spring thread ahead of time.

Looked at Denver forecast for my return tomorrow. Google telling me things like 16/-1, 18/-3.

****, I'm going to freeze when I get back.

Then I realized those were Celsius temps. It will be ok.

celsius >>>>>>> fahrenheit ainec
01-30-2024 , 06:10 PM
f it, even kelvin probably better than fahrenheit
01-30-2024 , 06:11 PM
i like this handy guide
01-30-2024 , 06:31 PM
Oh yeah, not arguing for F or imperial units. They suck
01-30-2024 , 08:06 PM
subtract 10%, double it then add thirty
i live in the land of fahrenheit thermometers
probably use that scale because he invented and sold the instruments

Last summer the temps in Greece were between 33-35. I didn't figure it out because it was ****ing hot.

Had a student in class today who just added this week. She hadn't done the reading but after a few minutes, she picked up the thread and contributed exceptionally insightful comments. I can't wait for next week when she has done the reading.
