I think Boxing Day is for the benefit of the servants.

Cary Grant. Christmas is Cary Grant.

I watched The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant as an angel the other night.

Tested positive for COVID this morning, but I'm still taking care of my friend's dog and cats. Just walked the dog for 40 minutes. Fortunately, the COVID hasn't hit me hard. Will see tomorrow.

What's the accepted wisdom on Bringing Up Baby? I watched about the first 15 minutes, and am unsure whether to persevere with it.

Brilliant film, rife with innuendo. Connecticut is like the forest of Arden in Shakespeare where people change. I love teaching the film because I can bring out all the ribald humor. We understand the double entendres even if the couple don't.

Check out Katharine Hepburn's golf swing.

Stick with it, charlie. I can't dissect films like John, Dom, MSchu et al, but I'd say it is a must-see.

In addition to the innuendo , loved the clever wordplay (i.e., "You've got to get out of this apartment!" dialog). Even I could see the Marx Brothers, Zucker brothers, etc descendance.

right or wrong can't help but literary associate the word ribald with geoff chaucer

rife with fraught and innuendo to be silkscreened on my next pair of underwear

gotta fit ribald somewhere in there

My granddaughter gave me a book for Christmas: 1200 words to make you sound smarter.

Haven't consulted it yet.

I did have to look this one up. Didn't realize this fear of 23 was a thing.

Ribald, a great name for a punk rock band from the East End.

Detroit Pistons are 2-28. List 27 games in a row, which means they had a winning record after three games.

Let's have a Forum contest to guess what that tray is for, or is everybody too young to remember seeds?

there is a ritual element to the act of picking through herb for seed and stem while preparing to smoke

Seeds taste bad and ruin your shirts.

I always thought that if you were doing it on a record album, then the album selection was very important.
