I binge watched the first seven seasons of The Walking Dead last month. It's an amazing show for the first few seasons, later on it settles into a predictable formula, however the current arc in the later seasons is awful.

Long Shot Documentary about a man accused of murder, and the lawyer who won't give up on him. Really interesting twist that I won't reveal.

Good watch.

It's got issues but it's so utterly skeevy, I enjoyed it a lot.

Just devastated that our government can do such things.
I am 3 eps into this so far. Really good. Taylor Kitsch is fantastic as Koresh, deserves an emmy imo.

It does seem to be very pro-cult members, and anti-govt, in its portrayal. Not sure how accurate it is. I am suspicious of the portrayal of the Davidians as a bunch of peace loving hippies. Issues of child abuse etc. are mentioned, but glossed over somewhat. Excellent show though.

I thought I'd seen every British/Scandinavian murder mystery on Netflix, but no. Putting it on my list.

My new guilty pleasure watch is Coach Snoop, which is basically just Last Chance U only with little kids and way more cursing. Honestly, it's pretty heartwarming.

OMG I just saw that AMC is airing a mini-series of Dan Simmons' arctic horror novel The Terror, produced by Ridley Scott, and starring Jared Harris.

March 26th.

Can't wait.

I heard that's a great book, but too busy to read it. I guess I'll watch it.

Wild Wild Country https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7768848/

This excellent Netflix Original drama series charts the Neo-Sannyas cults attempt to build
a new city in the heart of Oregon and how local hostility escalated into a
national scandal.
Fascinating story, surprised I've never heard of it before.

The Defiant Ones https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6958022/

Brilliant documentary series charting the careers and partnership of Dr Dre and
Jimmy Iovine.
Loads of contributions from big names in music like Tom Petty, Eminem and
Bruce Springsteen and plenty of early original footage from both career paths.
Highly recommend this for any music fan.

Over the past couple of days I watched season 2 of Sneaky Pete on Amazon prime. I really like this show and think season 2 was maybe even better than season 1.

It's a bit over the top with a lot of moving parts but I found the entire thing to be very riveting. I have an affinity for con man stories though.

Apparently, Starz has a new Howard's End series from Kenneth Lonergan, starring Haley Atwell and Angus Macfadyen...early April.

If this was BBV4L, I'd say, "I came."

Wild Wild Country was a bit of a chore to get through tbh. There is a good doco in there somewhere, but it was way too long-winded. And every time it threatened to pick up steam, it would either go off on another tangent or pretty much lead nowhere. Certainly not the edge of your seat thrill ride I was lead to believe it was.

Judd Apatow's The Zen Diaries of Gary Shandling is fantastic. First part was last night, 2nd part is tonight. Just amazing. I think people forget at how damn great and innovative Shandling was.

I watched part 2 of the Garry Shandling doc and it just blew me away.

This is more than than just a bio of a dead celebrity. It's about Shandling's struggle with himself and his search for happiness. The frame holding up this doc are his journal entries, and they are amazing. He meditated for most of his adult life and strove for Buddhist, Zen-like strength and kindness.

I had no idea about that part of his life.

A definite must-see.

Powered thru the entire first season of the New Tick comedy...

X-files has been a complete disappoint this season, specially when compared to how awesome last season turned out to be.

Been watching the new 6-part doc Wild Wild Country on Netflix. Halfway through so far. Really crazy story that I'm surprised I had never heard about before. Followers of a religious swami from India essentially build their own city from scratch in the Oregon wilderness, and clash with the local townspeople. Cinematography and music are excellent, style definitely owes a debt to Errol Morris.
