This seems to be getting routinely panned by critics, but I'm really enjoying The Rings of Power. I absolutely loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy (not so much the Hobbit). I guess this particular universe appeals to me. I do see how everyone might not feel the same about it, though.

Was The Hobbit too childish?

First of all, I'm referring to the film(s). I've never read the books. But, that wasn't my gripe about The Hobbit. It just didn't grab me.

I’m enjoying Peripheral.

Just finished 1971 The Year that Music Changed Everything on AppleTV. 8 45ish minute episodes documentary about the music of 1971 and accompanying political and social commentary. This one really hit home for me. I have always thought that music is the most "generational" of all the arts. The music you grew up with will always be the soundtrack of your life. Since I graduated from high school and started college in 1971 this one is smack dab in the middle of my wheelhouse. If you are a fan of or want to learn more about that period I would recommend.

I also graduated from High School in 1971. And yeah the music of that year still resonates with me all these long years later. May also have something to do with youth and the coming of age in some very turbulent times. You identify more easily with the music that moved you.

Google tells me that they had an episode featuring Gil Scott Heron, a man I assumed to be forgotten by all but Red.

We've been watching House of the Dragon. We loved Game of Thrones. Couldn't get enough of it. But this isn't as good.

We liked GoT because there was so much going on. So many factions and storylines. House of the Dragon is pretty much just about one family. It's more like a soap opera really. That being said, we do enjoy it and will keep watching.
House of the Dragon is getting better as it goes. It was sort of weird fast forwarding and the change of actors was a little off-putting. But I've gotten used to the change and I'm enjoying it more. Now that they've fleshed out the characters and have (I think) settled on a time frame it is a lot more compelling.

It’s so good. Just getting better. More character arcs I’m invested in and care about than all the previous Disney SW content combined. Can’t wait for the finale.

And we’re getting a whole nother season too!

Christina Applegate's first public appearance since announcing she has MS. She's always been a class act, a talented actress, and it sucks she's been given such a raw deal.

Dead To Me is a great show, and she was suffering through her disease while shooting the last season. A real trooper. Like Selma Blair, I hope this isn't the last we see of her in a performance, but it likely is.

Hopefully not the last we see of her. Jamie Siegler has been going strong with MS for a long time. She's a series regular on Big Sky now. I haven't watched any of it. She was suffering with it all the way back in the Sopranos days.

Watching the 2nd season of The Vow on HBOmax, the docu series about the NXIVM sex cult scandal and trial - now with more branding and orgies!

So bonkers.

Don't understand this cult of personality that leader Keith Raniere developed, because in all video of him in the series, he comes off as a boring, awkward dweeb.
