I thought the first few episodes of season one were laughably bad. But at some point it became absolutely captivating. The prequel season was solid. I could never get into following seasons though. Not sure why? Probably because the original Spartacus actor died and was replaced, loss of other characters and the change of story being out of the arena. I tried the first few episodes of season 2 and just could never get into it and stopped.

The old man is exactly right.

Get through the early episodes of season 1, and it becomes well worth it. I don't want to over-hype it, so I'll leave it at that.

Prequel was worth watching, but once the Spartacus actor changes, I lost interest and eventually deleted episodes unwatched.

Already heading into the 5th episode, and I actually have liked it all so far.

Yes, don't expect it to be like Rome(if you have seen it), there is a lot of over the top blood and it took me a few episodes to get used to that. Once the show gets going it hits on all cyclinders. The dialog, the plots and scheming is awesome.

S1 and the prequal are awesome. s3 is hard because the lead is a different character and another woman is different. s4 you get more used to the new Spartacus and the show improves a lot.

Is the prequel the one that focuses on Spartacus' rival from s1 and the owner guy? I watched the first season then tried to get into that one, but it just didn't really hold my interest.

the first episode of spartacus is flat out bad. the season finale of season 1 is one of the best episodes of television ever. seasons 2 and 3 are ok. season 1 is fantastic once you get past the first episode.

Rick and Morty on Adult Swim! Rick is Morty's ne'er-do-well genius scientist alcoholic grandfather who takes him on bizarre adventures. Best show on tv!

Agreed.. Episode 1 was weak.
I really didn't think I would like the show from previews, etc.. Luckily for me a TV critic whose opinions I respect discussed how much he liked it on a podcast I listen to. The critic had commented on how well the show gets you invested in caring about what happens to multiple characters in contrast to so many shows where there is absolutely no one worth caring about. Due to that, I started out planning on giving it several episodes just to see if I liked it. By episode #3 or #4 of season 1 I was hooked.

Hoping the geek version of entourage that premieres after Got on Sunday is decent.

Yes I came up with that.

I really like virtually all of the cast in it (don't know about the Office guy though) and it is Mike Judge so I have a pretty high hope that it will be good in the long run if not right off the bat.

Since tldr trends a bit older, I recommend "The Americans". Set in the early 1980's, it's about 2 Russian deep cover agents. A married team. Well acted.

I'm liking the Vikings! Just finished season 1. Those are some badass mother****ers let me tell you what. Do not mess with Ragnar Lothbruk and his ilk.

I'm eagerly anticipating Mike Judge's new HBO show Silicon Valley, also new Louies and GoTs.

I miss Strangers With Candy. That show was out of control. Amy Sedaris was perfect.Stephen Colbert was silly.Give it a shot. It's highly inappropriate.

Youtube has every episode of Party Down.Funny and not to be missed.

i gotta disagree. BUT i will say it's worth at least checking out. i liked it kind of a lot at first. and it is well acted. but i got bored of it and quit watching after ~10 episodes. i could see some other people liking it a lot more than i did.

I gave up on The Americans a few episodes in. Something about the use of 80s songs got under my skin. I also thought the premise was subtly but inherently pro-Soviet.
