it's haunted my memories seeing all the parodies of it as a kid

been considering watching for a while but honestly don't think the show could ever possibly live up to the inner mythology i've created about it in my mind

I've tried to get into season 2 of Your Honor, but it is just sooo bad...like an entire season of filler. No idea why this was made tbh.

How many people have seen the Bureau? It’s hard to find but if you’re into spy stuff (realistic spy stuff) it’s easily the best show I’ve seen in that category and in my top 5 of all time. The character development is unbelievable.

The Bureau is the GOAT espionage show. I believe it's still available on Sundance Now which you can find inside Amazon Prime.

We've been watching Shrinking on Apple TV. I have to say that I've never been a big Jason Segal or Harrison Ford fan, but both are pretty good in this. Plenty of laugh out loud moments. Would recommend.

Never of us ever watched The Sopranos but we decided to give it a whirl. Pretty enjoyable I must say.

Could only watch season 1 for free. I loved it.

Anyone else in The Lounge watch Tulsa King? Fantastic show! And Stallone is amazing. Weird he hasn’t really played a gangster before.

I sorta tried to get into The Mindy Project show. It seems to have a lot of good old-school plucky-lady sitcom mechanics at work, which I like. It follows the direct line from Lucy to Mary Tyler Moore etc. At its best, it reminds me of 30 Rock but not as sharp or focused. Still, this just isn't elite tv. But I do feel drawn to Mindy Kaling as an unrelenting cultural force. Despite not even being very young or very attractive, she's out there getting it done, cranking out the sitcom yuks and writing bestselling books.

felt exactly the same way, it's actually absurdly impressive what she managed to do

as for the show, i enjoyed it early on but it soon began to fall and i lost interest in continuing to watch after noticing i saw a few episodes that were neither funny nor entertaining

Started the Jeff Bridges spy show, The Old Man. The first episode was a marvelous slow burn that ends with a 20 minute fight to the death. John Lithgow is also great.

"Do you recognize me now?"

Can't wait to continue.

I'm not sure how we got around to watching this, but we started watching Freaks and Geeks It's fun watching these actors when they were first starting out. And, it's actually pretty entertaining. I kinda wonder why it didn't last longer than it did. The father is frickin' hilarious.

Finished Mrs. Maisel tonight. First show of the series ended with Dave Edmunds singing "Girls Talk," and the last show of the series had a nice callback: Teagan and Sara's version of "Girls Talk."

Why do I remember this four years later?

Poker Face is female Columbo. Lyonne channels Falk, especially the 'touch head when interrogating suspect' gesture. Quite fun, no brain required.

New season of I Think You Should Leave is out. A bit of a step down from previous seasons imo, but still likely the best thing Netflix does all year.
