I’m 2 episodes in and it’s pretty good. Not really my genre but my teenage daughter wanted to watch it with me (she must be angling for something) so I wasn’t going to say no.

The production is quite good which is always hit it miss with Netflix shows

I watched the first episode of Shadow and Bone on Netflix after someone talked it up at the poker table. It was pretty meh. Very wooden and about half of every line of dialogue served to set up the universe and provide context for what was going on, a little too obviously/lazily so. Probably not going to watch further.

A few series I watched recently that I enjoyed :

La Valla : I can't recommend this enuff for anyone that enjoys futuristic dystopian settings. Solid viewing, I hope they make a 2nd season and my favourite Spaniard tv series (yes, even more than Money Heist ).

Irmandade : They might be English titles for these series - I can't be arsed to look it up -, but this is yet another strong Brazilian series on prison life and organized crime. Solid.

Snabba Cash : Yet another very good Swiss series

The Rain : Enjoyable. A bit in the trend of adolescent dystopian worlds, but a decent Danish series.

Nice. Will certainly check these out. Accorded to wiki, Irmandade is on Netflix under the English title, Brotherhood.

Vera is a good source if you like multi year stories of deception and betrayal.
Also features a woman calling people “Pet”, always a bonus.

I watched the first two episodes and it's good enough for me to keep watching.

That said, even though I know the show is based on a book trilogy, I can't shake the feeling that it's a grown-up version of The Last Airbender.

But I guess if you think long enough, everything seems derivative of something else.

Just watched the first episode of “ Bent Coppers: Crossing the Line of Duty” a BBC documentary on corruption in the metropolitan police in the late 60s early 70s. Astonishing stuff, would recommend.

I assume we should hurry while this lasts:

Jean Smart's new show, Hacks, is pretty good. First two episodes streaming on HBO now. She plays a Las Vegas legendary comic who has to hire a young, disgraced TV writer to help her with some jokes.

I will watch Jean Smart read the phone book, so watching her be a Joan Rivers knockoff is pretty damn great.

The second episode of bent cops is even more frightening than the first , would definitely recommend

Been watching Billions lately, and it is exactly the type of show I hate the most. It's just good enough for me to continue watching, and yet every episode I find myself checking the clock.

Most of the show is dumb, but the dialogue is just the worst. It seems like the writers are just using the characters as an excuse to cram in as many pop culture references into the show as possible, because they think it's cool or something? And can Chuck manage even a single sentence without talking in metaphors? Ugh.

Anyway, I'm about halfway through season 3, and I think I'll have to ditch it after this season. I guess I'll use wiki or something to see how it all shakes out. I wish I never started watching this show tbh.

Billions is fun because of completely over-the-top Paul Giamatti and Damien Lewis

They are the only reason I'm still watching. But there is a limit to how much I can handle. Oh, and also...

Spoiler:
I *really* wanna see Chuck and his old man go down. But it doesn't look like that will happen this season.

Ugh. That one is on my list to watch soon, at least it was. Maybe I'll move it down.

Recently watched Helstrom. Interested in the description and in the beginning it was a little exciting. But then it was blown away, as is often the case. Within the plot became more dramatic, I don't like that.

Maybe it's just me, but yeah, I would suggest not even starting it.

Have you watched Mr Inbetween? It's in it's final season right now and is well worth watching.

I bet you are caught up by the weekend. Once you start, you won't stop. I got caught up on this season last night and if every episode had been available, I would have watched them all. I'm still pissed this is the last season. Show is way too good to end.

I'm visiting my parents this summer and enjoying several hours of House reruns each day in the cool of their basement. House was an irascible misanthrope and a drug addict but also quite brilliant at diagnosing diseases. For a network show that had to crank out 20-something shows a season, the quality for roughly the first 6 seasons is just unbelievable.

Watched the second season of Lupin on Netflix yesterday. Only five episodes, so it's an easy watch.
