Just started Mr. InBetween, fantastic. Lead guy has charisma to spare, reminds me a way more bad-ass Willem Dafoe.

Man, The Weight of Gold on HBO is a ****ing brutal doc about U.S. Olympic athletes and mental health....5 athletes in the last decade or so have killed themselves. That's insane.

If Michael Phelps - the most decorated Olympian ever has suicidal thoughts - wow.

I just watched Athlete A, a documentary about some of the USA gymnastics girls that were abused by Nassar. It's pretty bad too. I cried a few times. I remember listening on the radio to him being sentenced live. I think I cried then too, lol. All those girls coming up and giving their statements. Well over 300 victims, maybe 500, from one guy. Crazy. So many people knew and stuck their heads in the sand too.

If you are interested in the system that allowed Nasser to exist for so long, check out the Espn 30 for 30 podcast "Heavy Metals", about the Karolyis.

The Karolyis were a big surprise to me. I guess, in hindsight, it should have been pretty obvious how awful they were, but if you had asked me about them I would have assumed they were the sweet little grandma and grandpa, helping those girls be the best they could be, that they appeared to be on TV. I'm happy they are out of business and wonder just how much they knew about and condoned. They should probably be in jail too. I'll check out that 30 for 30 soon.

Watched the new season of Last Chance U on Netflix. Pretty much more of the same only a little different. Instead of a little podunk JuCo in the middle of nowhere this one is in a big city (Oakland). The coach isn't so much of an egotistical maniac like the others and most of the players aren't ex-cons or guys that got expelled from D1 programs. That is not to say the players don't have varied and difficult backgrounds just not as extreme as in past seasons.

But this follows the same format as past seasons but I think this is played out. Those first 2 schools featured had a lot more personalities and drama. This school isn't scouring the country for talent and former stars who have taken a bad path and aspiring to a National Championship but more trying to make the best of what they can get. Meaning this is probably a more realistic look at typical JuCo football. If you like past seasons this will go by fast!

Very interested, but after watching At The Heart of Gold, not sure if I can stomach more of that. Just despicable and equally unbelievable all around.

I wish those courtroom officers would have just turned the other way for a few seconds when that father rushed Nassar during the sentencing. That man deserves his one minute alone with him.

We finished Peaky Blinders. We were kinda what-the-f? on the ending. It almost seemed like they were maybe setting things up for another season if they decided to have another season, but ending it if they weren't.

This was really enjoyable all the way through. The surrounding characters much of the time were more watchable than the core. The different women that Tommy got involved with were really interesting. Especially Grace (Annabelle Wallace), May (Charlotte Riley), and the Russian Girl (Gaite Jansen).

I hated Adrian Brody in this, though. He spent the whole time trying to channel Don Vito Corleone. It was annoying to no end.

But Tom Hardy. I mean, Damn. What a fantastic character and performance. Gotta be on my top ten list of characters in a series. Just phenomenal.

The entire series held us quite well. Not our favorite of all time by any means, but quite enjoyable.

Brave New World was fairly good (especially visually) if you come in with low expectations ; worth a watch for a sci-fi buff

Man, the two-part Sinatra doc on Netflix is incredible...they'll never be another voice like that.

You got me excited thinking that there was a new Sinatra documentary out, but this is a 5-year-old HBO documentary.

Still gonna watch it again, of course.

Ok, what should I watch next after grinding through Ozark, Rome & GOTs?

Leaning towards Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Stranger Things or The Mirror.

Any other suggestions?

Yes, I know, I'm way behind on popular TV shows. ty

If it weren't for the corona and not knowing when TV shows will start filming again I'd advise you to wait on Breaking Bad until Better Call Saul finishes. BCS only has one season remaining and then you could watch that first right into Breaking Bad. As is there's just no telling when that last season will come out.

Mad Men is pretty good, you just have to give it a while to grow on you. I hated it the first time I tried to watch it. Then I needed something to watching with a 90 something yo woman and gave it another shot. Loved it.

Have you watched Homeland? Shameless? Fargo? Those are all pretty enjoyable, especially Fargo, for me.

The Shield is awesome. Just finished a rewatch.

I'm pretty torn on SOA though. I enjoyed it for a while, but damn, the last few seasons really sucked for me. Seemed every episode was, "I promise <this> won't happen."...<this> happens. Every. Single. Episode. I was so ready for it to end.
