This is based on the true story of John Meehan, a sociopathic con man who scammed, manipulated, intimidated and stole his way through life.
It focuses mainly on his relationship with Debora Newell and his insidious plan to take her for everything she had. But also flashes back through various stages of his life, charting his scumbaggery at every stage.
I knew nothing of this story until watching the series and was transfixed from start to shocking finish. The guy was a massive scumbag and this series is essential viewing for anyone who signs up for an online dating agency. A true tale of caution for the modern age.

I loved this. I knew one guy who is similar actually, just completely empty of remorse, all psychopath/sociopath. There’s no telling what they are capable of because there simply isn’t anything they are capable of if it’s in their own best interest. It’s truly scary.

It’s strange, though, how these types simply can’t hold down jobs or “keep things normal” for any period of time. I feel like even if they were to win a lotto it would all eventually implode. It’s like they only exist to f*ck sh*t up and take advantage of and hurt people, and if they aren’t doing that, they aren’t satisfied.

Probably gonna download the umbrella academy from netflix and binge the whole season on the flight home next week. Robert Sheenan was so good in misfits, cant wait to see him in this.

Robert Sheenan came very close to stealing the show imo. His performance reminded me a lot of his role in Misfits. Hope you enjoy it.

As an Agatha Christie nerd I was fully prepared to hate The ABC Murders on Prime, because I couldn't possibly imagine anyone other than David Suchet occupying the role of Poirot, but Malkovich is great. It's a darker take on the character, which matches the tone of some of Christie's later books: Poirot is aging and haunted by his past. I'm hoping Malkovich continues playing Poirot for a few more of these.

Agree with an earlier post that Umbrella Academy is really good. It's so interesting to look at - it's shot beautifully. Music is great, too. Most of the acting is fantastic, particularly the actors who play Five and Klaus. The kid who plays Five does such an amazing job at playing an older person in a kid's body.

4 eps into Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime... pretty good so far. Feels 24-ish but Ryan is a more likeable hero than Jack Bauer. Really good production values, feels like a big-budget movie.

Interesting take. I absolutely loved Russian Doll and binge-watched it in one night. And then after I watched it, I told my wife about it, and then watched all the episodes a second time with her. (Not in the same night, obv., lol.)

Killing Eve has grabbed me like no other tv show for quite awhile, I absolutely ****ing love it. Highly original, stylish, hilarious, touch of dark and serious, everthing is working. That lady who made it made Fleabag too which was also great. Some British lady with 3 names, she evidently knows what she's doing. Bring on Fleabag season 2 I say!

I just finished watching the first 4 seasons of Gotham. The 5th and final season is in progress right now. Went to get started on the Fox website and episodes 1-3 is not available with 4 going away soon. Can't find them on hulu, netflix, amazon. Nothing. WTF Fox? How is this smart? Any ideas on where I can watch the first few episodes other than torrents?

if it helps, S5 has totally sucked. You would be better off stopping at the end of S4.

I’m a massive Batman fan and Gotham is virtually unwatchable. I’ve slogged through 3+ season and never could find the steam to power through s4.
