While Stripes may not be his best movie, Ox's reaction to Sgt. Hulka being blown off a climbing tower, and possibly seriously injured, of: "Sgt., does this mean we're through for the day?" represents as succinct a summation of many em's attitude toward the command structure and its follies that I've ever seen.

This is really valid.

He definitely had a knack for conveying some pretty poignant stuff in some roles that would on the surface appear shallow

+1 absolutely loved Canadian Bacon.

also quite liked brewster's millions tho that prolly doesn't count since he was a supporting actor.

speaking of supporting roles JFK (regardless of what you think about its accuracy) is a great film and he was fantastic in his brief appearance.

So true, perfect balance of comedy and genuine characters, and a seriously easy watch.

Hmm I'd say Brewster's Millions counts, he was still very much a central part of the film. Unless we are talking purely on 'not being the lead', but if we were to do that I think a few other films mentioned itt are debatable also.

Love Candy
I didn't see it mentioned, and I know I'm possibly stepping in it, but I often see Delirious shown on obscure channels and always check in for a few minutes to huge laughs.
As far as Second City I recall his yellow belly character. And my favorite impersonation though perhaps because I met the man, the great Russian lifter Alexeve (sp) was Candy's depiction, great shaggy mane, bulging belly, wearing a tutu dancing across the stage with huge barbell.
